We stayed here to be close to Versailles but did not want to pay huge amounts of money. Our expectations were not high so we were not disappointed, after all you get what you pay for.||We found no cockroaches. We found only polite and helpful staff. ||The bits in the kitchen were all a little battered and dirty but whereever I do self catering I wash everything before I use them anyway.||The bent cutlery was a laugh and the cracked crockery and broken sausepan handles we laughed at also...we were roughing it and knew that things may be bad.||I was glad that I had brought 2 dessert soups with us as there were none and no soup spoons either just teaspoons. There were no wine glasses either as there were no glasses at all. But there were plastic cup in the bathroom... One improvises and that makes it all fun.||We liked the idea of having bowled plates as they could be used for soup as well as for other food.||It was good to have washing up liquid and a drying cloth and a washing up sponge and plenty of hot water. ||The bedding was clean and the pillows comfortable. I am rather glad to say that the room did not smell of smoke as I had experienced in non-smoking rooms of much more expensive hotels in the UK and on the Continent.||The bathroom was clean and good enough for the 2 nights we were there.||The carpet on the floor had obviously been abused by previous occupants.||We were surprised on our return to our room at the end of the day to find that our beds had not been made and towels were not replaced. It would have been good to know.||We would return as we would know what to expect.||A good price for 2 people so close to Versailles.||The smell of smoke in the corridor was really intense by the lifts. Next time I will bring a gas mask for the walk from our room to the reception in the morning. ||We didn't have breakfast as we thought it was too expensive. In fact we had a huge breakfast in McD in Versailles for half the price. ||The parking underneath was useful to have although at a cost.||We originally found it difficut to find the place as there was a coach parked in front of the sign.||In the carpark we were surprised to find porsches and other sports cars as well as Ryder Cup vehicles. We wandered how much they paid for their rooms.||On leaving we had to get our car out of the car park using the car park key which then had to be returned to reception.||Whilst walking up to reception a very lovely young man asked if I was returning the key that he would take it and save me a walk. As he did not have a badge of a unifom on I think I offended him by insisting on giving the key to whoever was at the reception desk which turned out to be him.. I really did not want to be giving our...
Read moreI was staying as part of a company working on the Ryder cup. Stright after check in you head to your room down musty smelling corridors with stained brown carpets. i can only imagine is what a detention center must look like inside. The rooms smelt as soon as you walk in. Bathroom grout was grimey, chipped tiles through out. TV remotes dont operate and wifi was hardly worth having if it worked at all. Several of the group particular on the lower floors experienced bugs, cockroaches and lack of hot water. I was on the 2nd floor and didn't have the roaches thankfully. ||Hotel staff were rude unhelpful and clearly had no understanding that a company had spent a lot of money to house over 50 crew. ||Breakfast was exactly the same on a daily basis consisting of cheap bread, stale croissant, and processed cheese cut thick enough to use a door stop.||The room cleaning consisted of the towels being changed if your were lucky, the bin bag being emptied and left on the side in your room. It certainly didn't involve any cleaning and bedding wasn't changed at whilst we were there (8 days) ||I travel a lot for work and have stayed in many hotels none of which have angered me enough to write a negative review. ||I would never consider this hotel or any of there chain again nor recommend to any other colleges. Can safely say its the worst hotel...
