Castle Fontnoble - Bed and Breakfast — Hotel in Vichy

The location brought us over halfway on our journey between Calais & South of France. Chateau de Fontnoble was easy to find from the main road south & a short distance from Vichy which was lovely to see. ( Sophie recommended a suitable restaurant choice for us by the river). Guests have separate rooms & a shared open plan kitchen/lounge space in a separate building to the owner. The rooms are beautifully decorated & bathrooms fitted out with quality modern fitments. We had the family room which was very genouously sized. Sophie welcomed us & provided a continental breakfast in the main house. I would definitely stay here again should we plan the same route in the future & am happy to recommend....

😊: A delightful property in rural France. Loved the character of the building which has been tastefully restored and is extremely comfortable. It was great having the kitchen area available for our use. Had great coffee at breakfast, nicest we’ve had. The location is so peaceful and we were fortunate to see locallly beautiful sunflowers in full bloom and the golden fields of corn. Idyllic! The swimming pool is a wonderful addition when the weather is warm.. 😢: It was extremely warm when we were there and the rooms have small windows and no fans or air cons, we were glad we had our own...

We stayed en-route to the South of France at this recently refurbished Chateau. The rooms are in a barn conversion and the conversion has been done to a high standard and sympathetically. There is a lovely swimming pool, a great large trampoline and a very scary zip wire that we didn't try. Great place to stay over. Only downside was they didn't offer dinner but we got takeaway pizza and ate...
