The location - in a tiny village, overseeing fields and forests, is amazing. It's very quiet at night, but easy to drive around during the day.||||The house and garden are amazing. Spotlessly clean (even the white rug on the floor is kept impeccable), the bathrooms modern and the whole place is decorated in extreme good taste.||||The size of the rooms was great. I'm used to hotels offering cramped sleeping places, but here, it felt like she could have fit double the number of rooms. Everything is so aired and relaxed. You could even spend the whole day in your room and not feel claustrophobic.||||Breakfast was great - home-made jam, croissants, some of the best bread I've ever had. It was served in two separate rooms on the ground floor, so we had a whole room to ourselves and it felt very private and nice. I particularly appreciated how nice the table was set and how careful all the tableware was selected. Upon sitting down, you'd feel a bit bad at messing up the arrangements.||||The host is wonderful - she spent time every day telling us about things to see (things we would not have known about, despite having a guidebook), places to eat and answering our questions. She was a treat to talk to and she made us feel very at ease. She was perfect!||||The Suite we stayed in has a separate extra room which can be used as an extra bedroom for one person (our case), or as a study (if you want to come here and write that book you've been promising your self to write)||||Extra points for having an adorable puppy (I think she was actually 8 or 10 years old, but puppies...
Read moreDuring the first week of the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion, my husband and I and another couple (our friends) traveled to France and stayed with Adeline Merot. It was just like staying at the home of a friend. The rooms were comfortable and clean and Adeline did everything to make you feel at home - from preparing breakfast requests to making dinner reservations for you as well as recommending great local places to see. She’d often join us for a visit and conversation when we were there, making it feel as if you were visiting family. She made a dinner one night during the week we were there, and you can reserve a spot if you like, which we did. It was a most amazing experience with French cooking at it’s best! The views from her back deck are beautiful and I enjoyed the company of her sweet puppy throughout the week. Stay there - you will be so...
Read moreWe visited Les Champs Français in Caumont-l’Eventé for 4 nights in July. We had an excellent visit and very much recommend Normandy, there is so much to see. The accommodation is spacious and tastefully decorated. We stayed in a first floor room with a lovely big en suite bathroom. The property is ideally located for those who plan on visiting the various sites in Normandy. It is in easy driving distance to mont Saint michel, Caen, Bayeux and Honfleur. There is ample parking on the large private driveway. ||With all this said the best thing about Les Champs Français was the wonderful host Adeline. She was so helpful, providing great suggestions of places to visit and making us feel at home. The breakfasts were delicious with lovely homemade produce. The gorgeous dog Felice was also a highlight. ||I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this...
