Great idea executed poorly. The place and concept is wonderful, however there are many flaws.
The cottages don't have any household items in them like electric kettle, small table, cups and silverware. If you would like to have a tea or breakfast you have to leave your cottage and go the special dining building. Basically you are only paying for the mattress, toilet and hot water.
We were mostly outside hiking and didn't use wifi a lot, but if you plan to use wifi just know that they only have one router near the dining building for the whole area... If you get unlucky like us and your cottage is bit far away from the dining building, you won't be able to use wifi.
Unfortunately, they don't appear to have electricity provided from the power grid. When we were staying there, man who appeared to be a manager told us that there was some electric outage and local electricity company was trying to find and fix the problem. For this reason we had limited hourly access to electricity. We had to charge our devices from 7pm to 1 am and from 8am to 1pm. However, this outage lasted for entire our 6 day stay... We realized they lied to us as Mestia never had any kind of power outage and we never saw electricity company people or trucks even once working nearby.
These were the main problems we faced and the price we paid for what we got is quite expensive for...
Read moreBude Mestia is run by Tatia and her partner in the woods above Mestia. Tatia greeted us with tea, coffee and local stories of the mountains making us feel very welcomed. We were in a little cabin perched on the edge of the forest facing Mt. Ushba. The cabin we were in is small but we didn’t have much luggage so it was perfect. Due to the triangular shape of the cabin the bathroom might be tight for a tall person. The place is quiet and tranquil and a great place to be after a day of hiking. You can arrange for breakfast and dinner with Tatia if you wish. There are some hammocks and sitting in the main area and lots of lovely fairy lights. There is a narrow porch you can sit on right outside the cabin, which we did, late into the evening. We especially love the smell of the evergreen and to be greeted by the birds and Mt. Ushba in the morning. We wished we could have...
