I was on the way to Zurich, which was holding the annual WEF. Chasing more aircraft and couldn't quite make up my mind to stay. ||||After some searching and deciding a plan on what I wanted to do I chose this hotel after looking on the internet. ||||I normally choose airport hotels or as close to one as possible so this hotel couldn't be further from my usual hotel as you can get. No airport nearby. Unlucky me.||||So I put the address into the sat nav and arrived early afternoon and parked at the front, so the postcode works. Unless you have a car or are on coach trip I can only guess on how you get here. As you find with Germany, a lot of places looked closed but I walked around the back door and rang the bell marked "Hotel" and within minutes the host of the hotel welcomed me in. Checking was nice and quick, it's also were the dining room and bar can be found. I put the car round the back, there is room for about 5-6 cars. ||||After checking in, I'd been allocated room 301, either use the lift or the stairs. Entirely up to you.||I guess with the place been full at peak times the stairs maybe the easier option as the lift is rather small. The room is on the back of premises.||||The room was well presented and immaculate. The presentation of the bed would make any large chain proud. It was a double bed with more crisp and clean linen. I had two separate but large duvets at my disposal, only used the one but did use both pillows. my one criticism The bathroom was a large shower, sink and toilet. All very clean and in working order with enough towels at hand.||||In the room itself, aside from the bed there was small table in one corner, rather redundant for me and then there was working desk, though the tv limited the space available. As usual it's the 2-pin European pin. There is free Wi-Fi available in all rooms, code and password found in your room. One thing that I did find odd was there was no kettle but a bottle of water. ||||For breakfast it was down the lift, to the ground floor and head towards the same place you checked in and let the host guide you to your table. Don't expect a warm breakfast, but a traditional German/continental breakfast. I went back twice as I like trying different things. A toaster is there for you if needed. It was well presented and it made you feel guilty for getting stuck in.||||I had been warned by the hotel the day before there would be no evening meal. I hadn't been warned however there aren't many eateries in Blumberg. Yes, it can depend on the time of year you are here. I did find a Pizza/Gyros shop no more than 10 minutes up the road by foot. And reasonably priced, and beer on tap! Sorted.||||So yes, a pleasant change from my usual hovel. If asked will I go back? Yes, just a question of when. It's going to be even harder now...
