Waldgasthof am Letten — Hotel in Lauf an der Pegnitz

From check in, to check out, we had an incredibly unfriendly and outdated experience.|We checked in late in the evening so called the phone number on reception and were hung up on. A man then came to the desk and was very hostile, told us we were checking in too late (not according to their website) and that we were saying our names too fast(??). We were told it would be near impossible for them to book us a taxi to the conference centre the next day but he would try( ended up being successful).|The rooms are clean and tidy but about 30 years out of date. There was no hand soap, body wash or working hairdryer! The room has a single bed with one single pillow which may as well have no filling in, similar to the duvet which is too short and too narrow for the bed which all of course is a recipe for an awful nights sleep along side the paper thin walls and neighbour noise. |Breakfast was a small cold buffet, not much choice and disappointing there was no hot food of any kind. |On our last night we tried to book a taxi again for the morning after and were met by the same unhelpful and almost annoyed man saying we can’t book at this time in the evening (being pre 9pm) but we asked him to try and when we (very apologetically) needed to change the time and number of people we were shouted at in reception in front of other guests which was just the icing on the cake for this experience! |Honestly don’t stay here unless you’re pretty desperate or willing to not eat, sleep or communicate with...

Super smart waiter, who responded to our wishes and also had a certain vile. I felt it good. The food was excellently prepared. Rarely eaten such a good lamb. It was great. As a starter we had a "Brotzeitteller" for 4 people with butter and lard. Was very good.||The hotel is located on the edge of a forest. The highway is about 500 meters away. The room was functional with a balcony. The balcony is accessible from every room. So it can happen that someone looks in at the balcony door.||It was clean and the mattress very soft. The highway could be heard with a slight noise with the balcony door open. Overall, OK for one night. Breakfast is included in the price and will be shown with € 7.- extra on the bill. The breakfast was adequate and the selection OK. Service very nice and the breakfast...

We spent the weekend at this charming guest house at the edge of a forested area near in the city of Lauf a/d Pegnitz (Nuremberg, Germany region) We recommend it! The staff are very friendly, the food is exceptional. The rooms are tastefully decorated in warm restful tones. Although some might think the room spartan, we rather liked the simplicity with everything one needs to hand. There is no in-room fridge, but that's no great loss. The restaurant is excellent and the area specialty food is superb. And try Francon wine! I had a Sylvania white wine grown in the region--to die for!
