B&B HOTEL Kassel-Süd — Hotel in Lohfelden

Stopped over on my journey back POL-the UK on 30/03/18. Inside hotel resembled the one I stayed in Hannover, but somehow was lacking in terms of service provided. Equally evening and morning reception staff came across cold / assertive. Again experienced a hint of ex-smoking room smell due to again old carpets that desperately need changing, same as in Hannover hotel. I think hotel management forgets that non smokers can tell those things, even if it is not a big deal it actually is unpleasant and just carpet cleaning is not enough.||Apart from that vey convenient location for motorway, this time at trading estate, but hey ho! Breakfast buffet was great again tho. Pre-Easter commute to motel was very busy. Inconsiderate guests, loud at night/past midnight corridor noises, but I suppose that is not...

There is little or no negative thing to say about this hotel, although it is a pity they do not cater for vegans during breakfast (so you're again stuck with bread/jam/fruit & coffee or tea ;-) ).||The hotel's location is not super for anyone who has interests in visiting the city itself, unless you have a car: it is located in an industrial area in Lohfelden (outskirts of Kassel). In that sense, the hotel must be superbly located for business travellers or people during an onward journey, looking for a quiet place to sleep overnight during the trip (you're close to the highway - but the rooms are perfectly sound-locked, so no disturbance by highway noise).||A little too overpriced, maybe (during high season), but friendly staff, and very clean &...

The good: Friendly reception, clean room, renovated a few years ago, good beds, relatively quiet, central location close to motorway, but far enough to feel away from the traffic.

The downside: rooms don't have a real sitting area, only a small table with two poufs. There's no restaurant, only a breakfast area, rooms don't have fridges, there's only a drinks dispenser (coffee, soda) at the entrance. If you rent multiple rooms there's no place to sit with a larger group, e.g. in a lobby. Located on industrial area, so an evening walk isn't great.

Conclusion: good place to stay if you want a place to sleep, not great if you look for a place to...
