||Immaculate, friendly, happy and welcoming. We stayed quite a few days in the 1 Bedroom Apartment (which can have an adjacent door used to make it a 2 bedroom with an additional bathroom) that was just great for a couple to have fridge space for a few beers and some salad. A 2 Bedroom Apartment is also available which has a slightly bigger kitchen with an oven but only 1 bathroom. But this would be good for a younger family. Breakfast has plenty of choices with eggs/pancakes cooked to order & very pleasant prompt service.|This is the sort of hotel where the staff become part of your extended family, Inge, Alexandra, Max, Frank and all the others always have a smile and laugh. Do yourself a favour and have lunch here. Not only is it great value but the food is creative and superbly cooked with lots of pride. They don't do dinner here but that doesn't matter as all you need is something light anyway, lunch will fill you up. Mini-bar works on an honesty system and you add it to your room each day and the prices are very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & have no hesitation in recommending you try...

There is no lift, and no restaurant.||The room was Ok, with a wooden floor we specifically looked for, but a carpet under the bed, for which I don’t see the need. Otherwise room and bathroom were in good working order and well equipped.||The breakfast room is very simple and undecorated, and the breakfast itself adequate but nothing special. As with the rest of the hotel the breakfast room, the lobby and the stairs are clean and light but...
Read moreDriving into Lorsch, it was a grey, overcast sky, in part of the town that was a bit rundown and not at all picturesque. But the Karolinger Hof was a like a beacon! Staff was gracious and warm. We dropped our bags and was given great advice on how to explore this town. We were there to see a rock show, we found the venue, and the adorable downtown area, with shops and restaurants. Back at the hotel. We couldn't get over the spaciousness of our room. The photos tell it all. SO clean, well designed, I wish we were able to stay longer, than just one night! The breakfast was glorious. The breakfast room, bright and open. Again, staff were doting...
