Eurocamp Spreewaldtor is idyllically located just outside the small town of Grosse Leuthen approx. 20 kilometers from the regional center Lübben. With the exception of the site's own shuttle bus that goes into Lübben three times a day, there is no public communication between the campsite and Lübben. It was experienced as a bit cumbersome, even though the shuttle bus was both reasonable and efficient.||The campsite had a family chat appeared as quiet and calm. On offer to visitors there was a small shop with a limited selection of goods, a restaurant that was open for a few hours in the afternoon, a playground and a small outdoor pool area.||The sanitary facility was clean, inviting and well maintained.||We had rented a camping barrel which was equipped with a double bed, bed linen and an outdoor table. The site's two camping barrels were conveniently located in a separate area with many trees that formed natural shade. Although the barrels are very simple, we found that they worked well as affordable accommodation for a couple of nights.||However, we miss a bit more selection of goods in the campong shop, especially considering that there were no other shops nearby. The restaurant could also have slightly longer opening hours.||We experienced service from the staff on a regular basis and felt both welcome and well looked after.||We can recommend the place for someone with a car who wants an affordable and relaxing holiday. Read moreLiked: Great site, hot showers, decent food available at night, superb hot tub, BEAUTIFUL lake available for swimming, lovely for dogs. Accommodating shuttle service to and from Luben station (to get into Berlin) at an extra cost. Alex the driver very nice and helpful.
Disliked: Flat beer. No forwarding notice about bolted on late check in cost of nearly £50 and restrictive check in times finishing at 5pm. Motorhome comfort pitch on incline mound. Additional costs for electricity over 4Kw a day. No bakery/breakfast facilities and no coffee shop. Pool is good but closing 14th September. Reception lady is brusque and rude, laughing at bolting on extra costs and we weren’t informed that one should book onto the shuttle bus in advance which meant that we incurred more extra costs. Helpfully the guy collected us late from the station (30Euro) cost but their shuttle service finishes at 5pm so a full day in Berlin isn’t easily achievable. Taxis aren’t a reliable source as expensive and far away. We weren’t able to book one. Luben station is nearly 20 minutes and then the Berlin Train is over an hour, so it’s a schlep to get in there (and cost £33 for two fo ride us for the day.
Showers themselves clean. Look up and you’ll see filthy thick cobwebs, very dirty.
Before the bolted on and unmentioned ‘late check in cost’ we would have given it 8.5/10 but that came as an expensive shock so it’s a 5.5/10...
