This Renaissance Style hotel and restaurant with Golf Course set in country estate is just a few miles from the city Center of Münster. Just came here for dining and strolling, didnt stay in hotel. Very well designed , nostalgic great interiors, friendly and courteous staffs, well maintained, very neat and great ambience for dining experience. The food is mediocre, not so much choice but all menus are great. It is a nice and quiet place to take a stroll around the estate set in splendid grounds with Golf Course with a lot of trees around. There are free parking for guests and free Wifi as well. This moated Castle brings up the feeling of down memory lane. Indeed, a great experience. I would love to come back here. Must be very colourful in Autumn for there are many trees and plants surrounding the estate. Highly recommended!

Schloss Wilkinghege is a beautiful place to enjoy a quiet night. Even though the B54 is about 100m away I felt well rested and did not notice it. Breakfast is served in the beautiful old cellar with a good selection of excellent food. Everything is fresh, the coffee tastes good and you can get stuff like omelette cooked as well. The suite was very comfortable with plenty of space. The only thing I did not particularly like were the window blinds. I like to sleep in the dark, and they let in too much light for my taste. The food in the restaurant was outstanding and worth the slightly higher price. The dining room alone is worth a look! There are enough parking spaces available for guests.

What an incredibly unpleasant experience we had here. Barely any reception upon arrival. You enter a castle hall where in our case all the guests were having drinks. A wedding party or something like that? No one who walks up to you to explain that. So we take a deep breath and go straight through the reception with suitcases and up a long staircase where there is an (unmanned) reception. I do stand out with the suitcases so someone walks behind us to help us to our room. Otherwise we had a great stay, nice room and quite a nice breakfast but then came the most annoying moment. When leaving I suddenly had to pay 18 cents per minute for parking costs at the charging station ON HOTEL GROUNDS where parking was free everywhere. That was in very small letters on the pole, but you don't see that at all as a hotel guest who parks in the evening! €120!! For parking on the hotel parking lot. Madness! The receptionist could only refer us to the municipality. Huh? That pole is on their land, isn't it? Surrounded by free parking spaces? Why don't they take responsibility to make that very clear? Maybe think about a solution? None of that. I should just contact the municipality that had placed that pole on hotel grounds. Really, I never want to go there again. If I want a posh hotel, right next to a major road with bizarre parking costs, I will go to a world city from now on where there is something else to...

To start with, the place has amazing park and green environment. The food is good and the restaurant is beautiful and elegant. The service is mostly professional, polite, help-full snd caretaking. The rooms are charming even though old.

The disturbing part is heat in the rooms and the air. A bit hard to deal with no ac and very noisy environment so to open the window is not un option.

And than to the mist absurd policy of all policy’s. No phone calls in the restaurant. So, if you are alone traveling you just need to be happy about listening all others conversations but you are aloud to basically text. The only explanation went: that it us disturbing other guests😳. Hard to believe but I decided to respect the nonsense policy. Unfortunately the person I spoke to was even irritated for me questioning the validity of this policy (since everyone else in the restaurant were having conversations that I heard) and he rolled his eyes, acted irritated and rude.

This policy does not makes any sense unless it is encouraging people to be present in the moment or to be silent. But than it should be forbidden also to have conversations in person too, since it could disturb people who seek silence.

While I was respecting the policy there were people talking in the phone where the stuff just ignored.

I am not taking it...

Das Wasserschloss lässt vom Ambiente her keine Wünsche offen.
