We stayed here for two nights with our almost two year old in a junior suite. First of all I'd like to say the staff are lovely, especially the lady who served us breakfasts and dinners in the restaurant. The pool is nice, its all ultra modern and very nice. However, for a couple with a small child we found the junior suite totally unsuitable. |The layout is attempting to be super modern with the bath in the middle of the open plan room and the shower, basins and rest of the bathroom amenities virtually taking up the entire room with the bed shoved up in the corner. There was absolutely nowhere suitable to put the travel cot and the design was just a bit too 'try hard' for us. Its strange to have no tea or coffee making facilities either for the amount you pay for the room. Or not to have the tiny amount of toiletries replenished after one night. |It was really hot during our stay and the design of the room meant absolutely zero ventilation...it was sweltering. With one tiny window at the back of the room and a door which hardly opened up nicely when on the window setting, there was absolutely no air through the room and we all slept terribly. No fans or aircon either were offered. |We ate at the restaurant and whilst the food was delicious, it was hideously over priced. €10 for three pieces of tiny pineapple for desert is slightly ridiculous. Saying that, again the service was really good. |The little kiddies playground was nicr too...however, with big pieces of bricks and plastic all over the sandpit it wasn't exactly great. |Value for money...not at all. Friendly staff...yes. Good for families...definitely not. Quality of room anf facilities for the price you...
Read moreWe stayed here during a bad time as it was Eurobike 2015 time. Meaning hotels are scares and expensive. We decided to take the Junior suite and the first impression was really nice. As the temp. where 34 degrees outside and the room had now aircon, it was very hot and hard to sleep in the evening. We stayed in the new building which looked charming, had access directly to the pool and spa with out going through the house.||The bed was for us far to soft and we woke up with back pains. The tub directly in the "living room" was charming and we did like the idea. In general the suite was clean and comfortable.||Breakfast was average but good. We had here dinner twice and not once did we regret it. The food was really good from some good old german kitchen food to some more posh flavors. Wine card had a good selection and matched the food nicely.||The Spa and pool area where the real highlight as it looked new, 2 saunas, large relaxing area and a nice heated pool.||The service was friendly and good.||I guess the real down sides are:||no coffee maker in the room, I do expect this in a 4 star hotel, all the time now||no wifi in room||Food, especially desert, took a while to find our table||The church bell start going off at 6 in the morning including Sundays and at 7 they go crazy for minutes. This ofocurse is not a fault of the hotel, just you have to keep windows shut than all the time if you want to sleep long. Otherwise area is quiet.||The price might or is just...
Read moreI stayed here on a business trip for 6 nights, which I think is unusual compared to their typical guests who are on vacation. The hotel is a little out of the way, though was convenient for me. I had to be at Messe Friedrichshafen every day, and the commute was an easy 25 minutes. Although only a few of the staff spoke English (the owner/chef and one of the waiters), I did not have any major communication problems.
The hotel is really pretty. Nonnenhorn is a tiny town and is very picturesque. The room was certainly very comfortable and clean, although the decor was a little dated for my taste. My only complaint was that they did not replace the shampoo bottles during my stay, so I ran out of shampoo on my last night there.
The highlight of the hotel for me was the restaurant. The food was fantastic and the service excellent. I had the best soup ever - Banana Curry Soup with a shrimp scampi - wow! I at in the restaurant every day, breakfast and dinner. Everything I had was incredible.
They do not have WiFi in the rooms, which is a pity for me as I had to work every night. However, they were very accommodating, and I worked in the restaurant and lobby without a problem. When I had a connection, except for one night, it was really fast and efficient for me.
I have to be back in the Friedrichshafen area next year for a week again, and I will...
