Hotel-Restaurant Kaiserpfalz — Hotel in Paderborn

Stayed here for 2 nights, the hotel looks like a block of flats from the outside, but when you go inside, it’s nothing like the outside, it’s a typical German hotel. It’s a lovely hotel room was good clean and it had a great shower, the lady who checked us in insisted we put our motorbike in there garage, even made room for it , we where treated very well here. Breakfast was very nice simple but nice, the reason for my lower score to Average is the restaurant and bar where closed, this is a small town it does have an Italian restaurant close by but also closed only option for a meal at night was a doner kabab shop or a Chinese both of these where poor and not really an evening meal choice I would normally eat at. Now I know this is not the fault of hotel, but a hotel needs a restaurant and a bar for its guests. If I had known this I would not have booked it. Stayed for two nights here which is about 6kms out of Paderborn itself. The decor was created about 40 years ago and tries to represent feudal Bavarian lodgings but once you get past that, it is easy to like.||||Mostly an odd collection of business people tend to be the clientele and all well looked after by staff who seem to love their jobs. No lift and with 2 x 25kg bags the stairs were intimidating but when I bought in the second bag, the receptionist had lugged the first one up to the room. She was puffing but what an effort!||||Rooms were on the smallish side but absolutely spotless. Odd thing, we had no block out blinds on our street facing Windows just sheer material but it didn't really matter.||||Parking out the front is free after 6pm until 8am. I stayed in the Kaiserpfalz for one night whilst in the area on a business trip.||I arrived on a Sunday evening - reception isn't permanently manned at the weekends but I was able to give them a call and collect my key from a coded lock box by the door. No issue here.||The room was small and basic. Basic furniture and quite dated. However for a business trip this was absolutely fine. The bathroom had been remodeled more recently and was in very good condition.||The breakfast was excellent - lots of choice. Delicious Yogurt with fruit stored In little jars.
