Well what can you say about this place!||Nothing hugely complimentary thats for sure.||||I've stayed here while working on the offshore wind farms by Norddeich, 15km away for 8 weeks this summer and I would have rather have been in jail.||||The water that comes out of the taps has a lovey brown shade to it and a "interesting" earthy taste, ok for showering and washing with but don't make a coffee with it, I bought bottled!||||Rooms are basically furnished cheap bottom range IKEA , fridge, kettle, 2 ring hob, table dining chair and armchair but oh the bed is backachingly soft and underneath is filthy, not been cleaned for a long time.||||Do you like insects? I've stayed here while working on the offshore wind farms by Norddeich, 15km away for 8 weeks this summer and I would have rather have been in jail.
The water that comes out of the taps has a lovey brown shade to it and a "interesting" earthy taste, ok for showering and washing with but don't make a coffee with it, I bought bottled!
Rooms are basically furnished cheap bottom range IKEA , fridge, kettle, 2 ring hob, table dining chair and armchair but oh the bed is backachingly soft and underneath is filthy, not been cleaned for a long time.
Do you like insects? Namely flies and mosquitoes? These have been a big problem here, so much so, you cannot leave windows open at night to ventilate the room or you get eaten alive. The amount of dead insects and spiders webs in the communal areas is incredible!
This place is also full of contractors, as it is cheap accommodation for companies, guys who get up very early for work, we're up at 03.30 so if you're here for a relaxing stay bring ear plugs!
Bathrooms are pretty basic, the shower curtains don't prevent the water flooding the bathroom floor because they don't actually reach the shower tray as the curtain rail is set too high.
Kitchen cupboard doors keep falling off and the hot water supply is either arctic blast or so Fukushima nuclear you jump out of the shower like a scalded cat with 3rd degree burns.
On the plus side the wifi is free and a pretty decent speed and the car park is adequate but gets very full.
As for security there isn't any the place is wide open with no reception staff just a phone number to get your room key code, which you type in on the pad, see photos. We fortunately have not had any problems with any break ins but we have noticed since staying here multiple times over the summer the key codes haven't been changed!

Read moreWe arrived at the boardinghouse, we did not know how to check in(this might be our fault) the codes for the room was incorrect so we had to call services. The room we got only had 1 single bed. We were two so we had to call services again. They sent someone to come help. She was a lovely, friendly lady. They then moved us to another room. The room seems fine, but when i opened the mini fridge a dead cockroach 🪳 was lying there. The mini fridge cant close easily as its too big for the built in cupboard, this caused us to have our food not always refrigerated. The windows have no blinds, not even in the bathroom. If someone was at the building opposite us the have seen us naked! The shower is broken so you have to hold the shower head while showering. Because of this heatwave the room was unliveable, luckily after calling services they could lend us a table fan. This helped somewhat, until i noticed every heater in that boarding house is turned on. The tiles in the bathroom is also chipped making it look dirty. The bedroom floor was extremely sticky. They have enough cutlery for 1 person, but enough plates. We had to take turns eating. The pots and pans were not clean. The provide dish soap but no sponge, so use your hands. The room is infected with coackroaches that have no fear for humans. As i slept last night one decided to fall on me, I DIED. Also spiders and spider webs are abundant, the hallways dont get cleaned, i was there from monday till thursday, but never saw a cleaner. The hallway on my floor (3) had so many spiders and not small ones. The vending machines only use coins so if you dont have coins sorry for you. The beds we slept in was horrible the springs pushed through the matress and the one pillow was barely there while the other was a puffy mess. I believe tgis place has potential to be great, but the owners must stay there and see what needs to...
