bettis — Hotel in Samtgemeinde Tostedt

We stayed for one night in early September, 2023. Bettis was a great option. The owners were very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure that we had a great stay. For example, they found us an electric fan when we expressed concern about the unusually warm weather. They also loaned us a garage door remote so that we could park our large tandem bike in their garage. The room was spacious and comfortable. The house and grounds had a lot of nice places to relax. Das Bettis in Tostedt wurde uns für ein gemütliches und leckeres Frühstück empfohlen. ||Ohne Reservierung sind wir zu dritt (zwei Erwachsene und ein Kleinkind) an einem sonnigen Sonntag sehr nett empfangen worden. Einen freien Tisch für uns gab es auch und wir freuten uns auf einen netten Vormittag. ||||Die umfangreiche Frühstückskarte ließ keine Wünsche offen und bot auch Leckereien jenseits aller anderen Angebote (durchweg selbstgebacken Brote und Brötchen, Zimtschnecken, Coddled Egg, selbstgemachte, herzhafte Aufstriche, etc.). Geschmacklich und qualitativ war das Frühstück toll. Der Milchkaffee - es stand auf der Karte, was ich nicht gesehen habe - ist aus Filterkaffee zubereitet und somit eher ein großer Pott Kaffee mit eingegossener Milch. Er schmeckt jedoch gut und ist auch preislich Top.||||Leider nicht gänzlich überzeugen konnte uns der Service. Es waren etwa 35 Gäste im Cafè und alles wirkte ein klein wenig unorganisiert, stellenweise leicht hektisch. Hätte man mich zwischendurch gefragt, ob ich noch etwas trinken möchte, hätte ich ganz bestimmt noch ein bis zwei Kaffee bestellt. Eine Ansprache fiel aber leider aus. Nachdem wir unsere Bestellung bekommen hatten, war man mit uns erst einmal "fertig". ||Bei unseren bestellten Frühstücken fehlte ein Joghurt. Tatsächlich hat es mehr als zehn Minuten gedauert, bis wir durch Blickkontakt auf uns aufmerksam machen konnten. Es ist nicht unsere Art, lautstark nach einem Mitarbeiter zu rufen, noch dazu waren die Gäste zweiter benachbarter Tische ohnehin recht laut. ||||Nichtsdestotrotz hat es uns gut gefallen im Bettis. Es hat alles wirklich gut geschmeckt und beim Frühstücken bringt man ja in der Regel Ruhe, Zeit und Geduld mit. Von daher kommen wir "trotzdem" sicher...

I visited friends in Tostedt last month, and stayed at the new Bettis. Gasthaus is not the right word, as it's more of a modern destination with the traditional enjoyment of German hospitality. The beds and bathrooms are newly updated and very comfortable. The back garden will be beautiful in warmer weather.
