Bed & Breakfast Apfelstern — Hotel in Schillingsfürst (VGem)

House was woodsy and comfortable for a brief three day stay, Location is good as well for visiting nearby towns so giving 2 stars. Unfortunately had an incredibly unpleasant interaction with the host’s pets, when we were chilling in the courtyard and the host invited me to pet their cat (the old gray one). Cat initially was friendly but scratched me quickly after 2-3 pets on the head. Claws were razor sharp, and asking the host she said she didn’t believe in clipping them; resulted in hives immediately after and a latent cat allergy acting up for 2 months after the trip when we returned to the states. They have a several cats inside + outside and a dog around: this might not be a problem for most people, but be aware if you’re sensitive to animals. To top it off, the husband chuckled about the uncomfortable situation and joked I should’ve probably stopped after 1 pet next time 🙃 perhaps a German humor/culture thing, but was awkward and dismissive at the time...

Extremely kind and helpful people. We were stranded with the car at the gast station in Wörnitz, it was a fridaynight and we were on our way to Munich. We were there in the hot sun in 35 degrees celcius for 6 hours calling with our insurance company, who couldn't get our car fixed until the next Monday. So you can imagine how happy we were with the room at the Apfelstern. Sabine, the host even helped us with getting our car fixed, because she knew the mechanic down the road! Die Pension befindet sich in einem hübschen, liebevoll gestaltetem Fachwerkhaus direkt neben der Kirche. Das gibt einem sofort ein Urlaubsgefühl. Gegenüber gibt es auch eine Pizzeria und 2 Supermärkte sind auch nicht weit entfernt. Die Ferienwohnung ist wunderschön und gemütlich eingerichtet, sehr geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet, was man für den Aufenthalt benötigt. Aus jedem Fenster hat man einen Ausblick in's Grüne, v.a. auf den romantischen Garten mit den netten Sitzecken. Leider hatten wir keine Gelegenheit, ein Frühstück zu bestellen, aber die Karte bietet eine reichhaltige Auswahl, die sogar Spezialitäten wie hausgemachtes Kimchi und Shakshuka beinhaltet. Die Besitzerin hat uns freundlich empfangen und gerne alle Fragen beantwortet. Als Tierhaarallergikerin war ich sehr von der Sauberkeit des Hauses, insbesonders der Ferienwohnung beeindruckt, da ich trotz 3 Hunden und einer Katze im Haus keinerlei Beschwerden hatte.
