I would like to write down couple of words about the Hotel Jagdhaus Wiese...I have to admit, we used to go to Germany each year in May. We visited so many places there, nice ones, with nice people, having fun and great memories, fulfilling all our expectations, but....the Hotel Jagdhaus Wiese, went a bit further.||||We spent just five days in the hotel 9.-13. 5. 2018. Since the first moments we knew, we chose the right option among options we had. The hotel is at perfect place, in the nature. We have got perfect room, number - venti due - which is our lucky number...The room was nice, always clean and very modern, despite in the basic old building. We enjoined the perfect weather we had, and we were hiking everyday 15 - 18 km, visited nice places around and enjoyed the beautiful nature....There are many possibilities for hiking, places to visit, even possibility to combine a trip with so called "Sightseeing bus". The hotel provides everyday, tips for a day, hiking, walking, places to visit, including weather report, so called "Carpe Diem".||||It was pleasant to enjoy hotel SPA after so many kilometres we walked everyday, it was very relaxing...||||We very much appreciated perfect meals for breakfast and fantastic meals for dinner, as we had half board. The Cuisine is World class quality, so as everyday dinner service by always smiling .serveuses !!!||||The Reception staff was always helpful, providing with useful information where to go and what to see around....Especially small maps were very handy for orientation in the forest.||||We very much admire how the owners of the hotel were personally involved, serving meals for a dinner or supplying meals for breakfast, modestly, so one did not have any idea, who they are...It is not usual in such a hotels to our experience...||||To conclude, we would like to thank cleaning ladies, waitresses, world class cuisine, the Chef especially, the reception staff and the owners of the hotel, for their perfect work devoting for guests. ||||We consider to come back again, maybe next year. Good luck and every success...
Read moreWe have visited this hotel many times over the past years, stayed even for nearly 2 weeks, and every time we are overwhelmed by a feeling of ultimate comfort. It is the unique combination of many factors that, as experienced travellers, we have never found elsewhere combined: the location in the midst of the woods where you can start your hiking and biking tours right form the front door; the lovely spacious rooms with large comfortable beds, comfortable bathrooms, light- covering curtains and a balcony with a view on a beautiful kept garden surrounded by the woods; spa- and pool area with relaxing chairs inside or outside in the garden, and the classic ( not your one size fits all modern furniture that you nowadays find everywhere) dining area where a full breakfast and good diner are served. In principle the content of a 4 course diner is set, but there is a great amount of flexibility to adjust. If weather permits, you can eat outside with again the endless views on the garden and woods.||But most of all it is the staff that stands out. The great hospitality and friendliness of the young couple that owns the hotel extends to all staff, from the reception, the servants and the cleaning staff. Nothing seems to be a problem and they create an atmosphere as if their only and ultimate goal is to have you experience days of ultimate relaxation where they are there to take away anything that might interfere with getting relaxed. A personal touch for everyone, but never too close and with respect of every ones privacy. Twice we left the hotel to continue our vacation elsewhere for a change of scenery but both times we returned the next day since the difference with these - also highly rated hotels- with Jagdhaus Wiese was too big to...
Read moreI travelled there to celebrate my fathers birthday. The nearest larger town is Bad Berleburg or Schmallenberg. Going there I passed a nature reserve calle Wisent World and you think you are going to Nowhere land and suddenly the Jagdhaus Wiese is there. Very friendly receptionist even helped me with my luggage and later parked my car on a free spot. The Hotel has a long history back to the 1800s. I had a single room with an additional children bed. Room in a contemporary style, modern and clean, though it was small but not a problem at all. The breakfast buffet was above average with a good selection and staff was friendly, even took a bottle of wine or the bill, as it smelled of corkage the next day. While for dinner I had buffet the first evening and the 2nd evening a set meal, nothing to complain about and the food was good. Especially the beer in the small bottles was very tasty (sth. like Grevensteiner or so from Veltins). At night it is quiet there, no car noise, no light pollution and it gets very cold there during winter time. The second evening I discovered t=with the regular Bible a small book about their history, it was awesome to read the history of this hotel and the stories of people during the War and how the hotel was extended from decade to decade. Definitely I will come back although it is about 70 km rural streets to the A45 highway. They have free wifi to mention which is ok for emails and normal websites but too slow for streaming. and in Schmallenberg you can go to the factory outlet of FALKE socks and buy socks for the coming cold...
