We visited Krone Igelsberg hotel right before the December peak. The hotel was not as packed as it is usually, which was really nice and relaxing. We’ve been there for a weekend that continues to till Wednesday. Prior to arriving at the hotel I was changing email correspondence with Anja regarding treatments scheduling. Everything was set and scheduled perfectly and I ended up having 3 facial treatments, massage and mani pedi. Loved all of them and would highly recommend using the hotel’s spa services. ||# Food|The hotel has a great decorated restaurant that serves wonderful german as well as international food. We booked the all included package so only had to pay for the drinks. Looking back I know we did the right thing as the food that is served is so great I was getting excited each day of what’s coming for us. Breakfast is, obviously great too. Variety of cheese and cold meat and some days they always serve Weißwurst which was absolutely phenomenal.||# Location|Very close to the northern side of schwarzwald where the oldest tree in the forest is located. Totally worth strolling in the area.||Would go back first chance I get, hopefully for longer than...
Read moreEverything about this place was amazing! Family owned and run. So helpful and cozy. I truely didn't want to leave.||Food: Breakfast was good, good coffee - they let me take a pot to my room to enjoy on my balcony every morning... Do the half-board (it's a 4 course homemade meal every night that is really good - and I'm a foody). ||Staff: The staff were so helpful with everything and kind and welcoming - they've even mailed my train ticket that didn't come in the mail on time to my next hotel!||Room: Bed was comfortable - which I'm not finding too much in Germany. Room was HUGE. Big balcony.||Tech: Wifi worked uninterrupted but was unsecured. HDMI hookups for TV. ||Style: Yes, it's kitchy like gramma's house - but everything is cozy and comfortable.||Facilities: Massage treatments are very well done, sauna, steam room, pool, and spa are all perfect and immaculate. Smoking/pool/darts room was excellent.||Activities: You get a card for free/discount activities all through the Black Forest when you arrive. Nearby hiking trails EVERYWHERE.||Price: super cheap for what they do - I would...
Read moreInteresting hotel. We had an apartment which consisted of a bathroom, entry hall and separate sleeping/lounge area. There was also a balcony. Greeted warmly by Torstein who showed us around the hotel including the restaurants, bar, spa and pool. Seems to cater for everything. Lots of antinques everywhere. My husband liked this but I found it a bit overpowering. Room was a mixture of old and new. Old style furniture, big wardrobes that could lead to Narnia and old style bed but the shower/bathroom was really modern with a raindrop shower and lounge had a big screen tv. We could not eat dinner at the restaurant as they did not cater for vegetarians at all and only offered 2 set meals and breakfast had egg/cheese/cereal/bread for us. Wifi was free. Overall we...
