To start, I did not choose this hotel. We were in the area on business and our host booked the reservation. I mention this to let everyone know that nothing influenced my decision to stay here. For my purposes it was completely random.||||The hotel was typically German (which I like). Even though it is affiliated with the Ringhotel chain, it still has the feel of being privately owned. Check in was easy. The help spoke English well and was helpful. My room was clean and bright. My room was on the street side (I also like this).||||We did not eat dinner in the restaurant, but it appeared to be very nice. We did, however, take advantage of the bar...maybe too much. The staff was quick with a drink and the drinks were plentiful. They have a humidor and sell premium cigars. You are allowed to smoke them in the bar. I'm not a big smoker, but enjoy a cigar on occasion. ||||We sincerely apologize to the other guests that we may have awoken at 1am while were were trying to figure out the sauna. Turns out that it was way too late to use the sauna, but I'm sure that it's nice.||||The next morning we did have breakfast. No surprises here. In true German fashion they had a great breakfast room.||||Check out was a breeze and the owner gave me a complimentary box of Italian mints.||||I would recommend this hotel...
Read moreWhen we first arrived Mr. Philipp P. Gassner, The Hotelier greeted us, and checked us in filling us with information about the restaurants, bar, etc. each day as we passed by on our way out adventuring ,he would greet us (remembering our names). The room was very clean, and large (two single beds with plenty of space, separate toilet room, sink area, and very large walk in shower with steam bath) we also had a balcony with nice views. it seemed as though it was a new accommodation. The outside is charming and historic looking, the rooms are fresh and new. As you can go up a down the stairs , each floor has a sitting area that is comfortable and unique. There is a small elevator, if you have heavy bags or are tired from the day. the Restaurants have good food and an attentive staff. I had a very pleasurable stay, and when in this region of Germany again would...
Read moreI booked 3 rooms at this hotel 9 months ago thru Booking.com. I have NEVER encountered such unprofessionalism and unethical treatment from any hotel ever. I am traveling today and arriving at this hotel tomorrow, fortunately I had someone who is over there already run over to the hotel in person and request an early check-in for our arrival tomorrow. To our shock and disbelief, he was told that we didn't have any rooms any more. I sent my booking confirmation and he went back to the hotel with my confirmation receipt, at which point the hotel said they had a bus tour come in and could make much more money and avoid paying the Booking.com fees (their words exactly) so they gave away our rooms. No notification whatsoever!!! We are now departing with no accommodations...
