Waldhotel Raitelberg GmbH — Hotel in Wüstenrot

I stayed at the hotel for two nights as my friend was holding her wedding here. ||From the earlier reviews it seemed that the clients were mainly German and they had mixed experiences, and also the website was in German only.||During the stay most of the staff all had a reasonable grasp of English so there were no problems. ||The rooms must have been recently renovated as they all look much more modern than in the photos. There was a large flat screen tv, different lighting in the room and the bathroom was clean. It was a very comfortable room. Unfortunately my friends had problems with the temperature which they couldn't control. It seemed to be the rooms closer to the restaurant were very warm. There was very good wifi throughout the hotel, apart from rooms right at the end of the corridor.||The food in the restaurant for breakfast was very good. There was a large selection of bread, jams, spreads, cold meats cheese and fish, and also some cooked food too. We all ate well, but we wished that there was more fresh fruit. (Strange for a wellness hotel!)||The food they served for the wedding reception was very good too. We had a range of cooked mains from meat to fish, and the starters were also very good too. They served some German specialities for dessert and we were definitely stuffed at the end of the evening from trying everything.||I managed to try out the facilities just before we left as I had seen on the website they had a salt room which seemed interesting. After being misinformed about the opening times for the facilities on the Sunday morning, I finally managed to go to the sauna after the third attempt. It was quite a large sauna with a menthol vapour which was great for clearing the airways. The Germans in the sauna were all naked but I was told we could wear swimming shorts inside. The salt room was more like a resting area, there were around 8 seats and it was just at room temperature. The other people were just in dressing gowns reading books or checking their phones. ||The pool was quite small so it could easily get quite crowded. ||All in all I thought the hotel was quite reasonable and was a nice place to stay to relax. It overlooks the valley so the view from some of the rooms and the restaurant was spectacular especially as the weather was sunny whilst...

Begrüßt wurden wir von einer absolut unmotivierten Rezeptionistin. Wir wurden nicht mal gefragt, ob wir eine kurze Einweisung/Erklärung möchten oder ob wir bereits mal da waren. Kommentarlos wurden uns von einer anderen Angestellten die zwei Taschen mit den Handtüchern (mit FLECKEN!) überreicht. Aufgrund des erforderlichen Datenabgleichs hab ich die Dame darauf hingewiesen, dass wir heute einen Geburtstag hier feiern. Dies wurde mit einem herzlosen "Glückwunsch" quittiert. Für wen die offene, im Kühler stehende Magnum-Flasche war, konnten wir leider nicht herausfinden. Wahrscheinlich ist dies exklusiv für Übernachtungsgäste. Aber zum Geburtstag bekommt man mittlerweile in jeder 0815-Therme zumindest einen Gutschein für ein Glas Sekt. Naja-wir halt nicht. Dafür haben wir uns dann oben jeweils ein Glas bestellt, was wir dafür bezahlt haben, schreibe ich lieber nicht - aber das Wort Wucher wäre definitiv angebracht. Die ganze Atmosphäre in diesen Räumen war eigentlich nur mit einem Wort zu beschreiben: KALT. Wir froren eigentlich ständig. Es zog dauernd irgendwo kalter Wind rein. Der Ruhebereich, die Umkleiden, selbst im Frühstückbereich und JA sogar im Poolbereich - alles kalt, bzw. nicht angenehm beheizt. Was wir dort (Poolbereich) aber erlebten grenzt an Unverschämtheit. Der angepriesene "Entspannungs-Whirlpool" war EISKALT! Zusammen mit anderen Gästen wollten wir uns im Pool aufwärmen, stellten aber sehr schnell fest, dass dies eher ein Kneippbecken war, aber absolut nicht zur Entspannung gedacht ist. Nach einer anstrengenden Runde sind wir wieder raus, die anderen Gäste übrigens aus. Daraufhin sind wir zur Rezeption des Wellnessbereich und wollten mal fragen, ob der Pool evtl. erst noch beheizt wird. Die Dame erklärte mir das es über Nacht Probleme gab, der Pool deswegen kalt ist aber ein Techniker unterwegs sei, evtl. würde ab 14 Uhr wieder alles normal laufen (es blieb den ganzen Tag kalt - es kam niemand!!!). Auf meine Anmerkung, dass dies ziemlich schade ist, bekam ich keinerlei Verständnis sondern nur die folgenden dreisten Worte "Na, da MUSS man jetzt mal halt durch, ist ja gesund so kaltes Wasser -daraufhin stand sie einfach auf und ging. Rückwirkend betrachtet bin ich immer noch erschüttert. Was soll ich mit dieser Aussage anfangen? Ich muss!? Ich bin wirklich fassungslos - kein Wort der Entschuldigung oder sonstiges Entgegenkommen. Wenn ich mir die Bewertungen so durchlese, kommt in mir der leise Verdacht auf, dass dieser Whirlpool sehr selten anständig warm beheizt wird. Es ist auffällig wie oft dies bemängelt wird. Sie sollten Ihre Homepage dahingehend aktualisieren und aus diesem Raum etwas anderes machen, aber hier mit einem Whirlpool zu werben, den so niemand nutzen kann ist absolut unverschämt. Der Solebereich ist ganz nett gemacht, aber auch hier, es war einfach nur kalt. Aber auf die Saunen ist Verlass - bei 90 Grad wurde uns endlich warm. Frage mich nur, warum stehen draußen drei Saunahäuschen, aber nur zwei in Betrieb? Die Aussage, man könnte dies als Umkleide nutzen, ist arg weit hergeholt oder? Ich vermute eher Kosteneinsparungen. Das Wärme und Strom mittlerweile ein wertvolles und teures Gut geworden ist, ist mir klar, aber so sieht das ziemlich "arm" aus. Da wir nicht aus der Gegend kommen, haben wir uns für ein Abendbuffet im Resort entschieden. Dies war, wenn auch verdammt teuer (vor allem die Getränke!), sehr lecker. Es gab viel Auswahl, der Koch war sehr nett. Die Bedienung war, wie schon den ganzen Tag, sehr genervt. Beim Auschecken erwähnten wir den kalten Pool und unsere Unzufriedenheit. Man wollte uns mit einem Gutschein für einen Cocktail abspeisen. Auf meine Anmerkung wir haben einen langen Heimweg, bot sie diesen alkoholfrei an. NEIN DANKE. Für einen Preisnachlass oder Gutschein habe sie keine Berechtigung, Ihre Kollegin angeblich auch nicht. The hotel has great potential to be one of the best, but it falls short in some key areas.

Starting with the location and service: Although the road to the hotel is long and somewhat winding, the peace and natural surroundings make it worth the journey. The restaurant and breakfast services are top-notch, with excellent service and a wide variety of options. The spa is relaxing and inviting. However, when it comes to the rooms, we begin to encounter problems that no guest would want to face. The rooms were covered in excessive dust! This was not just dust accumulated over a few days. I took two photographs to show that not everything was cleaned thoroughly: there was a lot of dust, a denture box under the bed, and an unpleasant odor in the bedding, all of which hinder a restful night’s sleep.

On a positive note, a feature rarely found in most hotels is the presence of blackout blinds in the room, providing complete light isolation. There is still time to address these issues and transform the hotel into a top destination for both leisure...
