I spent at a night at the hotel during my recent vacation in Ghana in April this year. I left my laptop at the hotel in the hotel during my short stay. Initially I thought I left the laptop in my house in Accra. However, when I returned to Accra and I could not locate the laptop, I immediately contacted the hotel. The lady who answered the call was very helpful and polite. She advised me that she had been trying to reach me to inform me that I left my laptop at the hotel. However, when I sent a friend of mine to the hotel to pick up the laptop, they told her they only found the laptop bag and there was no laptop in the bag. The receptionist said that there was no laptop in the bag when it was picked up by the hotel staff. According to the receptionist, I left the laptop bag on the stairs leading to my room. The employee went on to say that they saw the bag on camera sitting on the stairs and took it for safety. She advised my friend that to be certain of what happened to the laptop, she needed to get her manager to review/play the video on the camera to identify the person who stole the laptop and/or confirm if it had tampered with prior to taking the laptop bag. She told my friend to come back because the manager was unavailable at the time. After several phone calls the manager was contacted and my friend went back to review the video/camara. However, to my surprise, the manager refused to play/review the camera to find out what happened to the laptop. I personally called the manager to plead with him and explained to him that the laptop contained work related files that I cannot replace. I pleaded with him to do the most sensible and reasonable thing to help me find out what happened to my laptop. He refused. He was rude, dismissive and abusive to me. The place is very clean, clean room and comfortable bed, secured, and they maintain the cleanliness even though it's by a busy road side and susceptible to dust. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay (one week) there was comfortable. Their breakfast time is prompt at 7am and they actually made effort to serve it to me. They ask for your preference the night before which is very good customer service although there isn't a wide variety, that gesture shows that they care. The manager there is very friendly and gave me a 10% discount on my total booking for a deluxe room. They have a reliable WIFI, and a standby generator for power outages. It was probably the smell of the street, but in such an expensive hotel, they could at least put a room scent in the room.
