I literally just checked out and I’ve been eager to give a review. Let’s start with the Cons: • Washrooms! Goodness me! The toilet and bath in my room seemed to have been unkempt for a while. The tissue was almost done so I figured it hadn’t been cleaned since the last check out. What baffles me is the fact that I booked and paid in full a week before and they knew my room number. I had to call the front desk to request for tissue which was promptly delivered. • I got pictures of the toilet and bath area and it’s not nice. The stench there was damp evident that it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. • The shower was doing fine until the morning before I left but I managed it. • Bedroom. The room was generally cleaned and smelled good after it was sprayed with a freshener but, there was still some dust on the arm of the bed and some cobwebs around the bedside table. I’m guessing the room wasn’t properly cleaned before I arrived which still baffles me because they had a full week to sort this out. • Balcony - The porch area was a bit dusty too with dumps from geckos but it was cleaned upon request.
Pro’s • Very friendly staff - from Manager to receptionist to cleaners to chefs. Kudos • Very good food! Neat restaurant and good food. • Very nice paintings and aesthetics • Evening music area • Very responsive. • Attention to detail with requests.
Overall, I’d have loved my stay and considered a comeback if cleanliness in my room was better. Good service is great but neatness and comfort cannot be underrated....
Read moreThe rooms and washrooms are too small, even with their so called big rooms, the rooms were not properly cleaned when we were there, the sheets and towels were not clean even when I asked for new clean towels and sheets, it still looked like it hasn't been washed and there was mosquitoes all around the room. These are places we go to stay when we are away from our homes and we are charged for it so you guys have to keep up with the cleanliness. It makes us uncomfortable when the place we have booked for does not live up to expectations.
I would really appreciate if you actually confirm from your books before you reply to people's review on your hotel. If you are one who can't stand negative criticism and you expect people to visit you place without them knowing how the place really is then I'd say you have no reason being in this business. Learn to correct your mistakes and be sure to really know who wrote what before you go about and tell lies here to avoid having a bad reputation for your hotel. I was just telling the truth and I don't even know where this music video thing came about. I only stayed there...
Read moreOkumah hotel is a newer hotel in Kumasi, it opened in April and I stayed in May 2014. They have some big pluses going for them as a new hotel, they offer great rates compared to some of the competition in Kumasi. For how nice it is it could easily be 3 star if it had a pool.||||When the staff took me to my room I saw something that I have not seen anywhere else in Accra. The guy checked the sink water, checked the shower, checked the toilet, checked the AC, and the fridge.||||The room was very good sized with a firm comfortable bed nice sheets and pillow. Also had a flat screen mini fridge and a wardrobe. The bathroom was very nice with a basin style stylish sing, and a glass door shower with hot water. There are a few finishing details that could make it perfect. Beyond the rooms there is a very comfortable seating area with leather couches and a big screen TV. The restaurant served a standard breakfast that was tasty by friendly staff.||||Power went off briefly but generator...
