As a frequent traveler familiar with Ghana, I've stayed in numerous hotels and guesthouses and know what to expect. Unfortunately, Manna Heights falls far short of its 3-star rating. In fact, even 1 star would be generous. I didn’t expect luxury but I did expect the basics: reliable water, AC, WiFi, and a clean pool. Here’s what we got instead:||* Musty, moldy smell and zero preparation for our arrival. The room had a musty, moldy odor and mildewy textiles (we saw other rooms too and the issue persisted). I understand that controlling humidity in a tropical climate is challenging, but I expected the room to be properly prepared. Instead of airing it out and turning on the AC, they simply sprayed air freshener (the type you might use in a bathroom) and expected it to mask the odor. Extremely disgraceful.|* Water issues. There was either no running water, or the water pressure was so low that even washing my hair was a struggle|* Power outages. Though short, the frequent power outages were highly inconvenient|* Unreliable AC and WiFi. The air conditioning and WiFi were unreliable at best|* Spoiled breakfast. Spoiled food was served at breakfast|* Poor pool maintenance. The pool was poorly maintained, and to my disgust, I found other people’s hair in the water when I went swimming|* Keycard issues. Our keycard stopped working multiple times during our stay, adding further frustration to an already disappointing experience||Due to the above, we had to repeatedly request for BASIC AMENITIES like running water, WiFi, and air conditioning - things we had paid generously for. Indeed, the hotel charges Western prices, which is ridiculous when guesthouses down the street offer far better services and amenities for a fraction of the cost. Unsurprisingly, the hotel was nearly empty during our stay, which created a bit of an eerie atmosphere.||There were a few positives: the location is convenient, the security is tight, and the housekeeping staff cleaned daily. However, it would have been considerate to provide “Do Not Disturb” signs so guests wouldn’t have to interrupt their naps or work to ask housekeeping to come back later.||Overall, this hotel was a complete disappointment, and I cannot recommend it. While some locals may still regard this hotel as “the best and fanciest” in the area, the reality is that its best days...
Read moreSeems services at Manna Heights is deteriorating||1st time I went there, everything was spot on - clean rooms, great service, good pool, lovely food and reasonable prices.||2nd time, booked my trip online, picked my room and even received an email notification. I arrived at Mankessim only to be told, my online booking was invalid. Again the ac in my room kept going off, and pool was filthy ||3rd time, hot water in the shower not working, front office printer not working and I couldn't get my receipt ||4th time, rates have been increased||Perhaps, I'm missing someting here, but how do you increase prices when services seem to be deteriorating? ||I also wonder why Manna Heights ONLY takes Payments in cash - you can't pay via card, POS or momo ||This will probably be my last visit to Manna Heights ||Rates on their website differ significantly to the rack rates||It's still a very lovely place and the food is actually very good but considering the few issues + a price hike, I'd rate...
Read moreMy recent visit to the Manna Heights hotel in Mankessim! 🌟 Despite the power outages, the place had a super peaceful vibe and the air was just perfect. And let me tell you, the chef there is a true culinary wizard! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. I was so excited to find a blow dryer in my room too, and the spaciousness added an extra layer of comfort. Even though the shower wasn't working, it didn't put a damper on my overall experience. I have fallen in love with the place and would want to go back over and...
