Coming from London arriving to Cape Coast with a long 6 hour in traffic drive. We came in before 2 pm and we knew that that check in was at 2 so we waited until it was time to check in. The place was very nice when we arrived, very spacious and clean however once went to check in they said the room is still not ready. So we decided to eat, so we ordered and the waiter said it would take 25mins. But 25 mins afterwards food and drinks haven't arrived yet. After 5 mins we got our drinks then about another 10 to 15 mins we got only 2 of our meals. The pizza tastes good but there was an overuse of flour at the base and I had to scrap it off with a knife. Then 10 mins afterwards the rest of the food arrived. The burger wasn't just a beef burger it was corned beef and mince which wasn't right but the tilapia was fine. We finished eating around 4 and still our rooms weren't ready. Then we went to investigate why our rooms weren't ready, after we made a fuss about why our rooms were taking so long we then guided to our rooms. Also the bathroom had a werid smell which was like they used bad cleaning products 😐 The customer service wasn't great at all. So I came back again, on behalf of my grandfather wanting to treat us. And on the 26th Match 2023 there's a buffet. The jollof was good as well as the fried rice. Snapper was lovely. The fish and snail soup was alright however the fufu wasn't very nice. I would say the food is way better than last time but still there's a bit of improvement they can do. The dessert bar could have more options The fresh bread would be more pleasant if it was warm. It would be better to have more of a variety with the food and to be lenient with the spices as if people from aboard visit it would be hard for them to enjoy the meals. The Victoria sandwich just isn't right at all The pineapples were nice and sweet The puddings are nice and creamy,l The tarlet was alright could of been better Overall, it's way better than before

This hotel was booked by a Tour Company, so we did not choose it, however our TC quickly assisted us with our problem, and we will be staying for one night as opposed to the original three nights. The initial decor is nice, and check-in was smooth. We had no problems with our luggage arriving to our room as the hotel staff was there to assist us. The HOTEL itself. It is definitely on the poorer sanitary side. When I arrived to my room there was a tray of old dishes and food left on the floor. Hotel staff was at the other end of the hallway, so I assumed they would be retrieving the trash. I quickly drop off my luggage and head out for a late lunch retuning 2-hrs later. Food still sitting there. Before I left out I spoke to the front desk who said staff would be removing it. In my room for another hour dirty trays still sitting outside my door. Go out for drinks now 5 hours later food still there. Not to mention in front of another room empty bottles have been sitting out in the hallway just as long. Why someone wouldn’t have just put them in their room garbage is another story. The hallways are not clean. Carpets in hallway and in room are disgustingly filthy. Dirty mattress at the bottom of the steps. Remote control to AC has dirty sauce on it. Shower water is lukewarm at best. Outlets appear to be coming out the wall. The hotel is having a party. I received a phone call apologizing about the loud music. My friend also on the trip received a phone call and was informed the music would end at 10 PM, which is appropriate. 60 minutes later music still blasting. When one of my friends called to find out when the music would be off, she was told when they finish. Normally, I would not complain about this, however we are on tours and our days are long. Cleanliness needs to be a primary focus, as well as a paint job in some areas. The hotel seems to be very dated, and that Is ok if the hotel itself had a clean appearance.

The common belief is that individuals tend not to write reviews unless there are problems. However, in this case, Checkin seemed satisfactory initially, but issues arose upon entering our room. We turned on the air conditioner and left for hours, only to return and find the room still sweltering hot. The refrigerator, television, and internet connection were also malfunctioning during our entire stay. I contacted the front desk for assistance, and two staff members arrived. The reasoning behind needing two individuals is perplexing to me. Upon my explanation of the problems, one of them fiddled with the air conditioner remote and claimed it was fixed. Unfortunately, the replacement refrigerator they provided was in the same non-functioning state. After attempting to fix the television without success, a technician stated that he needed to investigate the issue further in the server room and return later. Upon his return, accompanied by another staff member, my partner was on the bed. The second individual seemed more interested in gazing at my partner under the covers rather than focusing on his task of fixing the television. He spent an extended period of time looking away from the task, seemingly captivated by my partner's presence. This experience left me unwilling to ever return or recommend this establishment to others due to its unprofessional and uncomfortable nature. I am curious as to the purpose for his prolonged delay and inappropriate gaze towards something irrelevant after addressing the television issue. Additionally, I question why three separate individuals were required to address our room's issues. This entire experience made no sense to me and was highly unprofessional and awkward.

September 19, 2020 was the worst experience I've ever had with hospitality management, and in this particular case, with Ridge Royal Hotel. My friends and I went to the aforementioned hotel to use their swimming pool facility. We paid to use the pool at the reception and in haste, I left my phone and waist bag at the RECEPTION. A couple of minutes pass I realized I'd left my stuff at the reception, I went back to check and it wasn't there. I reported it to the receptionist and if they had seen my stuff, and their response was NO. I ask them to keep me posted if they come across a missing item. I proceeded to inform the head of security, Michael, to help me with the issue. He assured me he would investigate and check the security cameras all over the premises. Michael came back and informed me, he checked the cameras and he saw me leave the reception with my stuff so there was no way I had left my stuff at the reception. This made me confused and frustrated. So I gave him my contact number and he gave me his, in case they do find it, and I left the hotel a little past 6 pm. The following day, sometime in the morning, my friends and I were going through all the pictures and videos we took at the hotel to post, and made the most shocking revelation —pictures and videos that corroborated with timelines of me leaving my phone and bag at the reception. I called Michael, the head of security, and revealed this new evidence to him. I told him I have traveled to cape coast from Accra, and that my bag contained all my visa cards, Identification cards, money, and bus ticket I needed to go back home, so he should please crosscheck and get me my belongings, and if he couldn't find my phone I can live without it but I needed my bag and all my items in it as it was important to my departure from Cape Coast. Shortly after my phone call to him, he called me back and informed me my bag had been found with all my cards in it but there was no phone so I should come by the hotel. At this point, it was evident that there had been a foul play and a cover-up. I went back to the hotel with my friends to follow up. Michael told me a bull story about "someone" finding my bag and bringing it to the reception at 2 pm. This was a nonsensical tale because I was still at the hotel until late so why didn't anyone call me. I demanded to speak to the Hotel Manager, I met him and all he could tell me was "my boys said they found a lipstick in your bag"...and "we will do what we can to resolve this issue". To this day, I didn't find my phone, even though we tracked it with Find My iPhone, to the hotel but no one owned up. I only got my bag and cards, with no money inside the bag. A staff from Ridge Royal Hotel stole it and they were trying to cover their ugly asses. The utter display of unprofessionalism, bad service, and theft was gross, to say the least. Recommending the next guest to use Ridge Royal Hotel, would be a great disservice to my social responsibility and a bystander to theft, dishonesty, and poor...
