De Mod Hotel — Hotel in Greater Accra Region

I have been staying at this hotel for many years. It's biggest drawback is that it's outside of Accra, in Kasoa, on the road to the western part of the country: Cape Coast, Takoradi, etc.. Fortunately, however, there is a very good road to get there. The hotel doesn't have a lot of rooms but they are all spacious and a couple of them are very large, with balconies that afford great views of the countryside in this edge-of-the-city hotel (not sure how long it will be before this land is all developed). The electricity suffers from the same plague as so many other places in Accra but I hear they are improving their electric supply. When there is no public electricity they use their generator which is strong enough to run their ceiling fans but not the air conditioning. There is no hot water but you hardly need it in such a hot place.||||The restaurant's menu is limited but the chef is friendly as is all of the staff. I go to a large grocery store not far away - Shoprite - and buy whatever I want the chef to prepare for me.||||The staff of this hotel is extremely friendly and accommodating. "I had a very terrible experience at this very hotel. Their taps are not running, so they use well water, and the well is very salty. When it touches your skin, it irritates the skin until your skin wants to peel off. And it doesn't lather a bit with the soap.

On the second day, my room wasn't clean. They didn't come and clean my room. With the water issue, we had to use buckets. The buckets were so dirty. So, we had to go down there and give the buckets for someone to fetch fresh water for us. Very inconvenient.

Regarding their food, the food is okay, it's great, but the chicken is very salty. I called the number at the hotel, and nobody picked up. I called all two numbers. Nobody picked up. And up to now, it's been over two weeks. Nobody has even returned the call.

This is how poor their services are. I will never wish to go to this hotel again. Their services are very poor. Never going...

My first room had damp and mold throughout the room. The owner paid the electricity via a key metre so every day we had no electricity and no AC.
