Stayed at Ike City Hotel for my first trip to Ghana and first trip to Africa. Every single staff member went above and beyond for our large wedding group (20ish people)
Even from the airport pickup, they treated us well. They picked up 14 of us from Kotoka and the whole process was smooth, which was really important because we had some older folks in our party and we were all very tired. Not having to worry about anything after a transatlantic flight is invaluable
As for the stay, I loved every single staff member. From day 1, a lot of them greeted me by name whenever they saw me. They drove us to the pharmacy to pick up some things and came with us to make sure everything went smoothly. My plug adapter broke on my second day, so they immediately found me a charger I used for the rest of my stay. I was able to exchange dollars into cedis there as well. Service was just above and beyond.
They also have a pool with a bar, a spa with massages and mani/Pedi, and a beautiful rooftop bar that we went to every night. There's a live band on Saturday which was a lot of fun as well.
Their restaurant also isn't anything to sneeze at either. I had fufu, jollof, banku, and other Ghanaian dishes for the first time and they were all delicious.i also was craving food from home towards the end of my trip and their fries and fried rice were excellent as well
I felt so well cared for and safe at Ike City Hotel and I absolutely wouldn...
Read moreVisited Ghana and stayed at Ike City Hotel in November 2024 for a wedding. Ike is an incredible host, and the staff is lovely. Special thanks to the two wonderful ladies who work at the hotel who helped us negotiate prices at the market - they went above and beyond!!! The people involved with all the service - front desk, food, spa - were so attentive. However, I give "Service" 4 stars instead of 5 because we had some very confusing transactions regarding our evening meals at the hotel. We pre-paid for a bunch of food and it got, well, confusing. And also, it would have been amazing to have some carbs (bread, not stale toast), plain yogurt and bananas available at breakfast. And perhaps the hotel could have a variety of crackers on hand to sell to desperate Westerners having stomach issues? ;) Location - it is not near much. You have to have a reason to want to be in Tema, and it takes a while to get there from Accra due to the roads. That said - the hotel space/campus itself is LOVELY. The spa was the best part! Ike is very gracious...
Read moreThis is a 5 star hotel with 7 star staff. The rooms are extremely clean, modern and bug free. Stay in one of the suites, you will enjoy luxury! We received a couple of massages, pedicures and hairstylist services and very reasonable cost. This hotel is truly is a city, a one stop shop for everything you need. The staff even offered to go and get what we need if it was not already at the hotel. We travel with a mission group on a very tight budget. We choose Ike City because it also includes transportation from and to the airport as well as everywhere we need to travel. they also offer an attractive food package which saves us money. The restaurant makes food available 24/7. The hotel also includes a gym with a trainer available, a sky bar with a pool on the rooftop, a first floor pool with eating area and lounging. We could stay at a less expensive hotel; However, by the time we pay for transportation and food, we would spend more than Ike City. Ike City works well for our very limited Missions budget, then we are treated...
