This couple refused to release our $700 caution deposit over a broken fridge flap that costs less than $20. Philip even threatened my person during the arbitration at the Rent Control agency. Petty thieves!
Addendum: Philip, your propensity to tell lies knows no bounds.
a) My wife showed Laila the damaged flap and even sent a picture from Electrolux UK where we intended to order it from pending your approval. The flap itself costs less than $20!
Your wife was even accusing us of removing a mirror until my wife asked her pointedly to show us the holes in the wall where they were nailed, to which Laila had no answer. This I personally found extremely insulting. That we, owners of three companies with staff we pay every month will steal a mirror?
b) We only went to Rent Control when Laila refused to respond to my wife's messages. My wife requested for your number from Laila so I could talk to you one on one as men without emotions...she turned it down and said she was the one in control of the apartment and you had no say in anything: hence talking to you would be useless.
c) My wife asked me not to prolong the issue any further because you and Laila had no intention to return the money and my wife just wants to focus on her academic program. Imagine saying that to ship a flap of $20 would cost $300 by DHL! Ridiculous.
d) Our going to Rent Control was simply to make an official record of what happened. We did not go there expecting to get justice, especially with the comments that friend of yours was making, saying to me "..your file will come to my office..."
You even had the temerity to issue a threat to my person in the arbitration room, because I am a foreigner and you are in your country. You think you can issue threats to me? You think we are a house without a foundation or a roof?
We have all the chats and exchanges on WhatsApp. If we as Nigerians were the ones who did exactly what you have done, the whole world will label us as fraudsters.
We have told you to keep the $700 and we can do that because we are not slaves to money..rather, money is our slave. We command money when we want and tell it what to do. Money does not control us and turn us into cheap lying thieves, looking for means to steal from their tenants.
But a law of this life is this: what goes around must surely come around. Some call it nemesis, some call it karma, the bible calls it the law of sowing and reaping.
What you and Laila have done to us is a seed you have sown. We brought good will and lived our lives there without any issues or problems. But you have decided to pay us back with evil. God will be the judge and will decide this case between us.
We leave you to your conscience.
We have met great people in our short stay in Ghana. We have resolved not to allow this unfortunate experience define our perception of that great country...
Read moreIf you are looking for basic accomodations to lay your head then PamV is fine. If you are accustomed to a more quality AirBnB experience, this isn't it. Attention to detail, amenities and customer experience is not priority. I will start with the major concerns and go from there. The rooftop pool experience looks amazing! However, beware! Unless the necessary changes are made, you will be placing your safety at risk. The finishing to the stairs and floor of the pool is all tile, hence very slippery. Unlike most pools with a surface that grips your feet, this pool's surface is shiny. Also, no grab bars or railings to hold onto as you enter and exit. Makes me wonder if there is a building code inspection. That should not have passed. As a result, I slipped, fell and bruised my back and two weeks later the swelling is still there (I have pictures). Second visit to dr this upcoming week. This time with a specialist. Oh and, let us be clear. My goal is not litigation, I'd be fighting a uphill battle with that. When a member of my travel group notified owner, her response was an apology followed by, "you all are the first to use the pool, thanks for letting me know." Never again. On to the less serious stuff. If you have a one bedroom, you will get two plates, two glasses. Two spoons, two forks etc. Ridiculous. Also, it is not rare to have digestive issues as your body adjusts to the local food. Good luck with having extra toilet paper. The last thing I will mention, because there is plenty but I dont have the time (took weeks to just write this). One of the 2 bedrooms that two of our travel buddies stayed in, the ceiling was discolored and covered in what appears to be mildew. Again, if you are looking for a basic stay and nice staff, you will be ok. Any expectations that would warrant excellence or even above par,...
Read moreBuyer Beware!!!
From the moment we arrived there was issue after issue. One of the units the front door would not lock and the staff on site had to come fix it. Two of the rear sliding glass doors didn’t lock either and they had to come fix those as well. One of the hallway bathrooms faucet was not attached and you had to hold it to turn the water one. One of the bedroom stools was covered in mold and smelled God awful. The bathrooms don’t have doors and in one of the apartments the blinds wouldn’t close. There were men on the stairs looking through the open blinds as we used the bathroom, as a woman this is not acceptable. One of the bedroom AC units had water pouring out of it and we had to turn it off. As hot as it is here this made for horrible nights. The sheets were not clean, or acceptable. We had to go to the local store and purchase a comforter/sheet set just to able to lay down. The beds are small and hard as a brick, felt like we were sleeping in college dorm rooms. The water only stays hot for 30 seconds and the remainder of your shower is an ice bath. My brother was showering when the shower hose busted shooting water cold water in his face. One of the apartments is next to where they keep construction equipment with an extremely bright light shinning through the blinds making it impossible to sleep. The house is an hour from Accra and it’s hard to get an Uber/Bolt drivers to pick you up and they refused to take us back there. The road to get to Pam V Estate is far from what anyone could call a road. It’s more like a dirt path through a construction zone full of hills and holes, making the drive dam near impossible. Yes they attempted to resolve the issues but after issue after issue we came to the conclusion it was time to go and we left to go...
