I went there with a couple of friends and family members upon my visit to Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region. It almost a 20 minutes drive from Bolgatanga township on the Bolga-Bawkor road. The road is tared but the access road to Blue sky is not till u get to their entrance which is tared for a 100m stretch. When I got there I was directed to where I ought to pack my motorcycle and I ushered in. Blue sky has very wonder and serene environment and my very favorite a swimming pool. The are quite a number of resting beds placed at the various sides of the swimming pool and a guard rail around the pool. I was told upon asking why the need for a guard rail I was told it's positioned there to prevent unsupervised and curious kids from getting close to the pool. The hotel rooms at Blue sky is lovely and a nice place to even make u feel at home. Their pool is neat and the water is changed after every swimming. Their restaurant has a variety of affordable cuisines and locally made dishes as well. I had a nice swim with my friends and family from 2pm till 6:30pm and all the time we had an expert at swimming supervising us as a safety precaution by the management of Blue Sky Hotel. All drinks both alcoholic beverages and non alcoholic beverages are sold at the hotel. In conclusion, I believe Blue Sky Hotel can be added to the list of wonderful and amazing places or hotels to visit when ever you are in the Upper East Region of Ghana and...
Read moreI recently stayed at Sky Blue Hotel, and unfortunately, it did not meet expectations.
Rooms: The rooms were spacious but in need of serious maintenance. One lamp had no bulb, and there were exposed cables in the bathroom lighting, which felt unsafe and unprofessional.
Service: The service was decent; staff were polite but seemed overwhelmed or disorganized.
Food: The food was the most disappointing aspect. It wasn’t about limited options—it was the execution. Orders were consistently wrong, and the meals felt like they were prepared with no care or attention. The cutlery and glasses on the tables were visibly dusty, and some of the glasses we received were dirty.
Cleanliness: Overall cleanliness was subpar. The lack of attention to detail was evident, particularly in the dining areas.
Internet: The internet was practically non-existent, working maybe 10% of the time. Every inquiry was met with the same excuse: “We have internet challenges,” which offered no real solution.
In summary, Sky Blue Hotel left a lot to be desired. While there were a few redeeming qualities, the maintenance issues, poor food quality, and unreliable internet made for an unpleasant experience. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, nor would I...
Read moreWe stayed at the Blue Sky Hotel for 2 nights while on a birding tour throughout Ghana. From the outside it looks fine enough except that it was very dark - the outside as well as the hallways inside. Our room was dated yet functional, and had a very odd "window" that looked out into the lobby. I'm not sure who would ever use that - we didn't. The meals we ate were prepared by the hotel and were OK, but the service was subpar - dinner was very late one night because the staff had to go find cooking fuel and another morning because the cook didn't come to work. Overall, it seems the hospitality industry in northern Ghana could use some...
