Kingstel Hotel, Takoradi — Hotel in Western Region

This is a fairly new hotel!! Good location! I was in one of their standard rooms! Which was a good size plenty storage! But shower room toilet was very small and you had to squeeze past the shower to get to the toilet!! The water is turned off through the night so no shower if you need an early dart!! Friends were in a deluxe suite which was great! I was offered an upgrade through booking .com but no word of it when checking in!! No facilities for disabled, my room was four flights of stairs! No lift! The staff were lovely very freindly especially Emanuel at the pool, he spent hours entertaining our young travelling companion! Dinning was an awful experience!! Not much choice for breakfast unless you like cabbage or curry!! No fresh fruit or cereal! And in the evening we waited over an hour and a half and when food did come out half of us were finished before the other half got theirs,and there were only four of us!! The hotel itself is nice and clean and bedding is changed everyday along with towels!! It may only be teething problems! As far as the Dinning is concerned! But I won't be going...

Poor customer service at the hotel restaurant. I am actually disappointed. I and my friends were coming to Takoradi and decided to stop by to eat at the hotel restaurant. Once we sat down we ordered two light soups + 3 orders of fried rice with beef and some spring rolls. We were told it would take 10-15 minutes to get our food. We never got it until an hour later. We asked them and we were told “oh we had a program so that’s why things are slow”…. We got our starters so late and we had expressed to them that the food is taking quite some time. We were given excuses upon excuses. We then got the fried rice and one order was missing. The waitress told us that they no longer have beef. At this point I am like come on. If you don’t have it why let us make the order. It was just pathetic. We also got the light soup so late because they were now putting it on the stove. It was just one thing after the other. Would not recommend.

Place is nice, but there is lot of issues that hotel have to solve... Biggest issue is kitchen and the time you have to wait your food. It doesn't matter if you do pre-order or order the food, it was all ways late. I live in this hotel all most 6 months, so i know what i am talking about. Biggest credit i will give to African Bar guy Samuel, who really try to make things right. Also there must be some issues that i don't know, because the staff change like 5 times. First floor cleaners do they work nicely, but when they were changed, things went bad. Even one time my room door was open when i get back from town. I cant say that this is good place to visit, if you want your food in time or you want nice room service. If this hotel solve the issues, it may have nice future among the hotels in Takoradi. If not, this place will have big problems to get...
