Blue Lagoon Villas — Hotel in Argostoli Municipality

Had a lovely 10 days at Blue Lagoon Villa. Spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids. The pool area is lovely with the most beautiful surroundings and views over the lake and mountains. The beds were very comfortable, and it was agreed by all of us that it had the best shower we've had in any greek holiday accommodation - didn't have to hold it up manually and great water pressure! Mario our host was very helpful, and our boys loved the company of his friendly cats. We didn't see much of him other than cleaning the pool daily but he was always on hand via WhatsApp.

No issues at all with mosquitoes, which we thought may be the case next to the lake. You can hear the frogs in the evenings which was relaxing, it's a nature lovers dream. It was particularly hot whilst we were there and the air con was brilliant.

Kitchen has everything you need for simple meals, toaster, kettle, coffee machine etc. There's also a BBQ, which we were too lazy to use, and too many lovely places to eat out!

The villa is in a great location, and only a 5 minute drive to Poros, which is a small pretty harbour village with plenty of good tavernas, a great pool bar and shingle and sand beaches, some of which are empty in the middle of July. There's also a lovely bakery and a few supermarkets. There's a few cool bars to visit, cafe remetzo being a favourite. Poros is also a great base to be able to travel around to the rest of the island. A car is definitely necessary.

From the get go, we knew we were in good hands, Mario is a fantastic host. The villa was very clean, rooms are a good size, plenty of space for clothes and enough room for our 3 year old kid to run around. Also the Air Con is very modern. The garden area is stunning being surrounded by the mountains and the pool was very clean. I'm unsure why, but we never got bitten, I think the villa being sandwiched by the lakes, which I think are full of frogs, eat the mosquitoes, I'm unsure how true that is but it worked. Poros is a 4 minute drive and is a lovely little town by the sea, which comes to life in the evening with local families playing in the cooler night. The town is chilled and has everything you'll need. A beautiful sandy beach is a 20 minute drive away at Paralia Kaminia, Limenia Beach is a 10 minute drive, which is fun for snorkelling, and Skala Beach which is a 20 minute drive, which is a mix of everything above. We have stayed for a week, and the place is very nice and quiet. Nice views and enough space around the house and pool to relax and enjoy. Also the landlord was really helpful and friendly, with many tips and suggestions for sightseeing. The house was comfortable with good beds and 2 bathrooms. The rooms were somewhat small but convenient. Also the kitchen was a bit tiny but provided all necessary equipment. We have had a very pleasant time as a family...
