Piedra Villa — Hotel in Argostoli Municipality

The Villa is exactly as pictured on the website, no fancy wide-angle lenses or trick photography here. The pool is sublime, clean and the perfect temperature. Bath and pool towels are provided and comfortable seating areas is plentiful poolside.There are plenty of shaded areas if needed and the landscaping is amazing. The owner regularly tends to his plants and it is evident by how amazing everything looks. There is also a set of swings and slide for the kids which was a pleasant surprise.

The furnishings are comfortable and neutral, with an authentic rustic feel, giving each room and each bedroom suite, a theme of its own. On to the villa itself...everything is absolutely perfect. From the open plan living space with games table, to the full kitchen, to the separate bbq house (with a sink and dining table too!), screens on every door and window so the breezes come in and the bugs stay out (there is AC in every bedroom and fans in the lounge) to the spacious closets and bathrooms so you really can move in while you are there. The private chapel is also a must see. The owners have truly outdone themselves in providing an absolutely unique experience.

The pool was cleaned every other day and it was always clean however I would recommend that a net is left out so guests can fish out any bugs as required. The view was gorgeous, over the mountains with a distant sea view from the balcony, and the nearest neighbours are miles away so you really felt like you were in your own private palace in paradise, which in essence you are. Tourists even regularly slow down to have a closer look as it has an amazingly beautiful approach and is truly stunning.

The villa is approached by the side road rather than the main gate and it could do with some resurfacing as it is steep and difficult to exit from. The owners are greek so some translation was required and we had to ask for a schedule for the cleaning and tending to the plants which was promptly provided. However these are minor teething issues which I am sure will have no impact on an amazing holiday.

I could go on and on but I'll leave it only to say that if you want to explore this fantastic island, most beaches being only 15-20 mins away there surely can be no better base than...
