One of the reasons we booked this hotel was because of its advertised policy of "non-smoking throughout the building". Imagine our surprise to see ash trays (albeit clean ones) scattered around upon our late evening arrival. Our suspicions were further aroused when we found ash trays in our non-smoking room and the stale smell of tobacco smoke when we opened the door to our room. These were all confirmed at "breakfast" when ash trays were provided for guests to openly smoke in front of us. We have complained to booking.com for misrepresentation on their advertisement for this hotel.||||The mattress is very hard as was the pillow. The double bed was 2 singles put together with separate sheets and blankets. The bathroom shower is a joke with no curtain and the shower head about 3 feet off the ground. Water splashes everywhere when taking a "shower" - so much for the bath tub and shower advertised in the their photos! ||||Breakfast of a warmed up brioche plus toast and jam. Coffee was ok but the "fruit juice" no more than squash made up with tap water that none of our party could drink. There was no other choice for breakfast other than what was served in front of you. This hotel would win the worst breakfast served by a "2 star" hotel, hands down.||||The remains of what looked like a stamped on beetle in the corridor that we noticed the night we arrived were there again all next day. So much for cleanliness.||||The TV on the wall has a smaller screen than my laptop - so far away as to be purely decorational, rather than functional.||||Only saving grace was the friendly greeting when we arrived and Wifi that actually worked.||||Friends of ours who were lucky to book a hotel in Itea, nearby, as the Amfissaeum was all booked, told us of the many choices they had for breakfast... and theirs did not even have a "star" listing.||||The only hotel in town... my recommendation is to find another town to stay in, if you are going to spend the night in the area. Some in Itea, as our friends discovered, turned out better than what we have had to endure.||||Strongly do not recommend this hotel, unless you are a smoker and not interested in a good night's sleep and do not want breakfast in...
Read moreI recently stayed in this hotel overnight and can not say I would recommend it to anyone. We needed to stay overnight and this seemed to be the only hotel in the area. The decor is very dated upon first entering the lobby but the owner of the hotel who also mans the reception is a very nice man. Our room, while large enough, was also very dated. The AC worked well and there was a small refrigerator in the room. The bathroom was good with all necessary amenities. The beds, however, were some of the most uncomfortable I have experienced while travelling and thus I titled this a Spartan experience as it seemed we were using rocks for pillows- hard, uncomfortable. The mattresses were also very hard and one woke up with sore hips. As to value, we paid 58 Euro for this room and felt we were overcharged considering breakfast was not included. In Nafplio we paid 60 Euro for a more comfortable room with a wonderful breakfast included. Other than the very pleasant owner, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We were visiting Delphi the next day and should have gone there to find a room but we had a long drive, weather was not good and...
Read moreI don't think this place deserve even one star. Internet doesn't work in our room. Only agreed to take this room because it has jacuzzi, and guess what jacuzzi doesn't work. The person in a hotel doesn't know how to make it work and give me a choice to take my money and leave. I'm not even saying that this place is outdated and dirty and it feels like everybody smoking everywhere. Had to open all my windows to somehow ventilate room and view is magnificent to the wall that covered in graffiti. The hot water in the tap is like warm wanted to have a bath but decided not to. By any means if you have a choice, avoid this place.
