Staying with Konstantinos was one of the highlights of my trip to Greece. The rooms are more than adequate (clean, in good working order, etc), but it was Konstantinos' personality, friendliness, and hospitality that made this such a great stay. The restaurant downstairs is great, and just incredibly cheap (ate 2 dinners and 1 breakfast here with 2 people and a good deal of beer and wine, and it came to 45 euros for all 3 meals). ||||Beyond all that, what made this such a memorable stay was the fact that he had friends and musicians come by on a Saturday night to the restaurant to play music and sing songs together. This is not some tourist trap trick, but moreso a genuine gathering of friends to play music and enjoy life together. As more people/friends of Konstantinos arrived, they kept pulling more tables together to make one giant table. Konstantinos invited us to join them, which I would usually politely decline out of fear that he was just doing it to be polite, but you could see that he and his friends earnestly wanted us to join them and partake in the festivities. Large plates of food was being passed around, music being played, people laughing, etc. At one point Konstantinos leaned in and said "I'm pretty sure all of my friends are here." This was truly a night to remember, and as someone who has traveled all over the world (40+ countries), this is one of my favorite nights of travel in my whole life.||||I should add that although fun was being had and music was being played, when we decided to head upstairs to our room (we're not Greek, so unfortunately I lack the stamina to stay awake until 5 or 6am like they often can), our room was completely quiet and we didn't hear a peep from downstairs.||||Aside from all that, I should point out that the place is located in a beautiful place, surrounded by mountains on all sides. It's family-owned, as Konstantinos seems to handle the communication/booking/scheduling and his parents run the kitchen in the restaurant. The drive from Athens (we chose to take the coastal highway as much as possible) was one of the most beautiful drives I've ever taken, and we stopped for photos seemingly 100 times. Being close to Delphi (15 min?) allowed us to visit an amazing place, but being away from the constant mobs of tourists was perfect, as was avoiding a town that is comprised entirely of restaurants and tourist shops on the ground floor and hotel rooms above (I found virtually zero evidence of locals living in Delphi).||||Amazing host, real/true cultural experiences, phenomenal location, and supporting a family-owned business. What more could you want? I SO recommend that you stay with Konstantinos.||||I...
Read moreA quiet village location, excellent for Delphi (if you have a car!!). Has 6 rooms, top 2 have vast balconies and views of the village and miles around. Host Constantinos and his parents run it. C has very good English. ||Breakfast is continental with much of it local or homemade produce. Amfissa olives served at breakfast are huge and succulent (couldn't find them in the shops!). ||Kelari gets full in July/August so book ahead. In mid May max 3 rooms are occupied.||Explore Amfissa (5 miles away), a lovely little town with a castle but drive up, dont try to walk/climb, and stop in Harmania, the old town centre being regenerated now, where tanning was the activity in 1800s, wander the old town streets.||In Amfissa, the restaurant Elladografia serves modern rather tha traditional Greek food, on the left as you approach the town from Sernikaki.||||The only dwonside is that the bar downstairs (where breakfast is served) is used by the owner and locals and there is no ban on smoking unfortunately. If the weather is nice you will eat breakfast outside and never have to go...
Read moreWe booked by phone at the owner Konstantinos, who explained how to get there and replied by phone every time we needed information. It's 1 hour from Athens by car, we rented one in Athens. We had a room on the top floor with a lovely terrace and beautiful view over the mountains around - it has also a kitchen corner and a fridge in the room. The room was very comfortable - spacy, big bed, kitchen corner, air-conditioning. The family owns a restaurant on the ground floor of the pansion, where we ate every evening - and for breakfast which was included in the price (AWESOME rich breakfast, Konstantinos makes also wonderful coffee drinks) - excellent Greek food and for good prices. Konstantinos and his parents are very nice, welcoming and hard-working: they make you feel at home all the time. We absolutely adored our stay. Every evening many local people came to eat in the restaurant. We went to Delphi and to a nearby region for hiking - this is a mountaneous area, but also close to the sea! Awesome memories! Warmly...
