Thea Dodoni — Hotel in Dodoni Municipality

We booked a room here for Oct 30 as it seemed a very convenient and well priced location for a visit we wanted to make to the ancient site of Dodona. The place turned out to be nearly impossible to find, in a very rural area on a steep dirt road, marked only with a few faded, /stained signs in a Greek letters. It was so creepy and poorly maintained that once we were shown the room, a sagging mattress in an ill-lit basement, we forfeited our prepaid reservation and got out as fast as we could. We drove another 40 minutes and checked into a business class hotel in Ioaninna, the nearest city. It was a costly decision as our cancellation was too late to qualify for even a partial refund,but we did not feel it was a safe or clean environment. So WE found a friendly hotel and restaurant, fairly new, well maintained, clean, with a beautiful view of Dodoni site. At first we were the only ones eating but a local family also came. Fantastic food, Ionian Sea mussels, beer, salad. Some of us love small inns in out of the way rural towns and don’t need classy hotels...

We stayed here in mid April 2019, basically found the location with the GPS. We had a very pleasant stay and a great dinner.
