Melistas Rooms — Hotel in Dorida Municipality

These rooms sum up what is wrong with accommodation in Greece nowadays and that is that it just isn't keeping up with what people want. When rooms cost 25 euros a night a charming basic room over a taverna was okay but now they are charging 45 euros and more it just isn't good enough. These rooms are in a separate building behind the taverna which is on the harbourside and are small and basic. Rooms on the second floor have a sea view. The bathroom is adequate, although it seems to flood everytime you have a shower and there is a good sized fridge provided. The beds are okay and there is a thin sheet provided for covering. But it is just not worth the price. Many other European countries provide much better accommodation for this money.||||Marathias is small and the sea front is attractive. The room at Hotel Melistas was very nice. It was spacious, clean, and contained the basic needs for a comfortable stay, eg. a little fridge, AC, tv,... We had a room with view towards the sea, which was stunning. We could calmly read a book on the balcony while the only thing you hear are the birds and the sea. I highly recommend it! I must also mention the kindness of the owners, who showed us around the room, with a great knowledge of English.
