I stayed at your hotel with my wife for 6 nights at the beginning of August and to tell you the truth we both have mixed feelings concerning our stay. I'd like To begin with the positive points. The staff and the manager were extremely friendly. I singled out the receptionist Evi Xamilou who tried to rectify some problems we had and Dimitra who always welcomed us during breakfast and lunch time...with a smile. The cleaning lady who did her best to keep all the rooms on our floor clean and the ice cream which was very delicious and all the kids had a blast with it. Unfortunately there are a few things that should be dealt with in order to please both foreign and domestic guests. Although there was a pool I could never find a lounge chair since they were very few for the amount of guests and the ones at the pool were always reserved by inconsiderate guests who would lay their towels on a few of them as they only cared about themselves and no one else. We complained to the manager and towards the end we were given two to sit at the far side of the beach near the beach bar. The worst part though was the food especially lunch and dinner. The food was never enough and the menu was the same and it felt like it was being recycled since it very rarely altered and if you were not an early bird at the restaurant you would have to satisfy your hunger with an omletet or some leftover chicken parts instead of the food that was suppose to be offered on that day. I don't know why there were never enough plates and why the salads always looked really sloppy...The meat portions were small and sometimes not well cooked. I believe that there is certainly a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the preparation of the food. When you know that you will have 400 people to feed you certainly plan ahead of time. Last but not least I was lucky to have stayed on the second floor since others who stayed on the third or fourth with children had a very difficult time with the elevator as it only accommodated two people and there were only two in the entire building for 400 people I would suggest you build at least one outdoor elevator sometime in the near future. Anyhow I believe that this hotel has a lot of potential. If the owners and management are willing to improve on some vital points it could once again justifiably earn its 4 star rating. A big thanks goes out to all the staff members who did their best with the very few things they had at their disposal. 3...
Read moreThis is a very basic hotel playing to be 4 stars, for that I have to give it 0 stars. I don’t recommend it, the rooms are equipped like simple hostel rooms, the food won’t amaze you. Here go some highlights that got my attention:
all drinks (including breakfast juices and cocktails) are made from post mix machines from two elevators one is never working and other one is very slow, you are lucky if you manage to bring your luggage up and down, fingers crossed not to get seventh floor, although walking to the third one all the time was also a good gym session shower, partially clogged by the hard water, very low experience, very ugly design WiFi not working on peak hours and slow during other times (don’t try to bring work here, disconnect!) Beach is one tiny piece of cement mixed with stones and sand, with pieces of trash (from people at the hotel, not from the sea) I recommend going to the right side with the lovely locals (in case you can’t cancel your trip and not come here). If you do come, don’t break your back on the plastic beach beds. Evia is an island still developing, transportation without a car is complicated and wrong advices at the reception made some of our trips difficult, also taxis are expensive, and it is usually not possible or recommended to rent a scooter, as there is high traffic from trucks going around (there is some factory south of the resort) Food, I suffered seeing some of the peculiar options, it is not BAD, you can always build your own Greek salad, but wine comes from tap and quality of everything is basic (pasta cooked with oil, questionable croissants and bread, fish fingers, etc.) Swimming pool has opening hours, 10-18h French people are the favourite guests in this hotel, programme is in French, animators speak French, you will hear same amount of French as in France Trips, there are many posters and leaflets for amazing trips, we were visiting in July and we weren’t able to book any, they just didn’t exist. So don’t expect boat trips, snorkelling, hiking, wine tasting, or whatever additional fun activity
What makes the disappointment grow is that the marketing of this place is one big chunky lie. If I was going to a cheap hostel I wouldn’t be expecting anything, but paying for this experience and receiving low quality of everything made it a bad experience. The island is lovely, get a car and book another place. And wish us luck, we are heading for...
Read moreThe hotel is not a four-star hotel, it deserves a maximum of 3. The rooms have the basic elements, the bathroom is too small, you can only sit on the toilet properly if you are Chinese, there is also a bad smell in the bathroom. The rooms are cleaned every day, new towels, new sheets. For a hotel with more than 250 rooms there are 2 extremely small elevators, a maximum of 2 people are allowed to use them at the same time.
The food is average, nothing special, monotonous, cheap choice of ingredients, but everyone will find something to eat, although there is not a large selection as for a declared 4-star hotel. The breakfast is monotonous, the same every day without any vegetables. The drinks are below any level, cheap brand dorisa which are just carbonated, full of sugar. The Magnus beer is also the worst quality in Greece. It is best to drink water. The coffee is rated 2 out of 5. The quality of the drinks and coffee is also evidenced by the fact that not a single employee in the hotel drinks them. The pool closes at 6 pm, the surroundings are kept clean, the bar opens at 10 pm and closes at 11 pm. There are not enough sunbeds. The beach is neglected, no one cleans it, the sunbeds are not cleaned and maintained. Only garbage is collected from the bins, cigarette butts everywhere. The bar on the beach opens from 10 am to 6 pm. Coffee, water and beer are acceptable, everything else is based only on water without any taste. The water is clean, but the wind blows every day and the fact that there are windmills above the hotel means it is windy most of the time. The beach bar only serves water, everything else...
