“We loved this small independent hotel. Very clean and comfortable, quiet and very friendly owner. He even offered to come out to the street to met us. Offered us coffee on arrival. And LITERALLY opposite the new port - so VERY convenient whether coming or going from Igoumenitsa to Italy. Right behind EVGENIA TRAVEL. We were travelling from Pelion, Greece having personal belongings from a house sale there so had hired a van and were travelling back to Uk with our medium sized dog. We had located Hotel Zigos JYdTN_FVe8kYJw-ispEUttrhLsi3KpUbxoCTngQAvD_BwE - who fed us through to booking.com's pet friendly places. Our dog was totally welcome - what a relief. In fact - perfect - as we were given the lower right hand apartment with its own steps and balcony and entrance - so perfect for pets!! And the owner has and loved dogs. Found two REALLY great tavernas within walking distance - will review later - both dog friendly. Good parking - either right outside under a streetlamp or in private parking opposite. Perfect, perfect place if you are doing the Igoumenitsa - Italy route....
Read moreAlthough we had a short stay in Igoumenitsa, looking back this was the best accommodation of our trip through Italy and Greece. We arrived at least 6 hours before we were expected and our host was incredibly welcoming and accommodating- he even upgraded our room due to the fact that the one we booked was not available when we arrived. If you care about strays, he did too and was very clearly a loving and attentive owner, as the animals he took in were very friendly and healthy. He made great suggestions for what to do and we would not have enjoyed our stay as much as we did if it had not been for him. Had we not already made bookings elsewhere, we would have very happily stayed longer. It was very close to the ferry port and only a 15 min walk from downtown where there were too many beautiful restaurants and stores to choose from. Highly recommended, I feel guilty that I didn’t review immediately. I’m sorry I can’t remember the hosts name but you were incredible, thank you...
Read moreWhat a wonderful tucked away, yet close to centre, hotel. The rooms are super clean, large with your own patio to enjoy, very comfortable bed and pillows with a refrigerator. The breakfast for $5eu I strongly suggest you order; you may enjoy on your patio, their indoor patio or garden area. Omelette, great coffee, bakery items made by the owner as well as the marmelade, yogurt and honey are offered and have juices as well as alcoholic beverages. The shower has plenty of hot water and towels are large. The staff have great command of the English language should you need that. Upon checkout they will drive you to the bus station or ferry port. The reasonable cost per night added with all of the amenities offered should make this...
