Stayed here for one night with my family back in August.||It was only a stopover on our way back towards home but it was a most pleasant surprise.||Located on top of a small hill in a quaint quiet village just at the edge of Kerkini lake rooms give you a fantastic view of the calm surrounding areas.||The building and rooms are modern and recently renovated, impeccably cleaned and maintained and, as the name suggests, the main decorative motif is represented by the Halcyon (kingfisher).||I believe the family that owns the business also lives there and it was amazing having breakfast in that atmosphere, in someone's warm and welcoming home, the people there are just fantastic.||Rooms have air conditioning, balcony, large bathroom, refrigerator, beds are comfy.||I believe they only cater for breakfast, no lunch or dinner but there are plenty of options in the village.||Parking and wi-fi are free.||We only visited at the end of summer so anything concerning the wildlife was almost inexistent but I can only imagine how breathtakingly beautiful the area must be in full spring!||Other activities include boat trips on the lake (head to the harbor next to the dam for that), horse riding (also nearby the harbor) and bird watching (it surely is a hotspot for that during nesting season).||So if you're looking for peace and quiet in a relaxed surrounding while planning your next move, this is a great place, glad...

Read moreA lovely quiet place. Lovely view. The staff is friendly and open to help with anything. The young lady at the reception treat us very nice. The rooms are clean and spacious with a nice view. The breakfast was simple (continental style), but diverse to fit anyone's needs. There was a bit of a weird consistency of the water while taking a shower. Maybe because more people were in the shower at the same time. Still the water was warm enough. If you decide to go downhill on foot to visit a tavern be sure that dogs will be greeting you with barking from almost every house...
