We had a terrible 1st day on this Club Med location. We were not accompanied to our hotel room. The receptionist gave a vague direction of the room which made us walk back and forth. I had to go back to the reception 2 times to ask for more instructions. Finally, one of the receptionists said she will walk us to our room. The receptionist herself got lost and she called her team for instructions. The room was at the very end of the resort and had a cricket nest at the entrance. I rejected to stay there, and they managed to find another room. The room was dark with spiders and spider webs inside. My little one said: ' why would they let anyone stay here during their vacation?'. The little one knew vacation meant a brighter and cleaner room with no spiders or spider webs. We were told to hang out until they made the new room ready. My little one wanted to go to the pool but within an hour around 5pm I received a text asking us to return to the reception asap or we would lose the new room. I had to force my child out of the pool to go back to the reception to accept the new room which they didn’t allow me to accept via text. When we went to the new room, it was not any better but at least it didn’t have a cricket nest at the entrance. There was a lizard in the bathroom welcoming us with spider webs and spiders in the room. Our luggage didn’t arrive to the new room until 7pm. It was a shame that they made us walk so much in the heat after a long travel and they did not even care. The headquarters told me they would refund the 1st day’s amount for all the things we had to go through on our first day, but they never followed that promise. Moreover, throughout the resort there was an infestation issue. Bugs everywhere dead and alive. They say it is nature, but I have been to other resorts in nature, never had issues like this. They lack professional treatment for the overall resort. || Food was good at the open buffet in the main restaurant. The gourmet restaurant was not good. We had to go there for a late breakfast and it was very bad. Water was an issue throughout the resort. They should have had water coolers around the resort, but they didn’t have. I have seen people carrying 1.5 liter bottles from the room all day with them as the cleaners provide water bottles after they clean the rooms. The bar gives water only by the glass. I asked for the bottle at the bar as I needed more than a glass after the Pilates workshop. I was so thirsty during the workout but there was no paper cup by the fountain, so I ran to the bar as soon as the Piates class finished. The bartenders resisted to give me the bottle then they let go and gave me the bottle 😊 The plastic water fountains by the tennis or Pilates area never had enough (or clean) paper cups and the plastic water fountains remain under the sun all day. There are some little things that make it easy for the guests, but this resort was not getting it from the guests’ perspective. This Club Med definitely needs major improvement on how to make it more comfortable for the guests. ||Tennis was another area that needed improvement. They had a communication and guest relation issues. They did not speak proper English. I first went to the intermediate class. Intermediate was not intermediate, more like advanced beginner and it was too crowded. I didn’t get to hit the ball much. I usually attend advanced classes in my hometown. They told me to try advanced class which is what I did the next day. There were some more advanced players but there were 5 of us in the same level, intermediate advanced. They kept the 5 of us in the same court. The 3rd day I went to advanced class, the GO made us play a game which no one liked or understood. I spoke up stating that we should go back to the initial game we were playing as it was more fun and simpler. As soon as I provided the feedback to see if he could switch the game, the GO told me I should go to intermediate class. The 5 of us were at the same level but he only told me not to come back to the advanced class. It was a rude conversation. There was a lady who missed more shots than I did, she was not informed in the same way, she was a French speaker. The GO kept stating he also told the other ladies to go to the intermediate class. However, when I asked the other ladies, they said he didn’t say anything to them. After this conversation, I stopped playing tennis for the remaining two days. I gave the feedback to the Chef du Village about this Tennis incident, after that the GO apologized to me. The Chef du Village did what he could, gifting me a bottle of wine in the room, a towel, a cookbook, and a credit to my account. ||The entertainment was great. That is the reason I keep going back to Club Meds. The GOs work hard. The white night party was a lot of fun. I will try another Club Med, giving it a last chance before I make my final decision about this chain. I must note that the GOs at the boutique were the kindest. The Chef was also kind and available. Unfortunately, this specific Club Med is not a place I will revisit. I have visited so many different Club Med locations (from childhood to this age) and I can say that this location...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Club Med Grecolimano as a solo traveler, and I wanted to share my experience.||Positive Aspects:||1. Beautiful Location: The stunning beaches and lush surroundings of Grecolimano provided a perfect backdrop for relaxation. The natural beauty of the resort is truly breathtaking.||2. Good Food: The dining options were impressive. I enjoyed a variety of delicious meals throughout my stay, which greatly enhanced my experience.||3. Professional Staff: The staff displayed a commendable level of professionalism. Their dedication to providing excellent service was evident and made my stay enjoyable.||4. Positive Energy: I particularly appreciated the positive energy from the Yoga GO and the bar staff. Their enthusiasm and engagement created a lively atmosphere that made my time at the resort even more enjoyable.||5. Timely Room Preparation: I arrived early, and I was pleased that my room was ready upon arrival. This made settling in much easier after my transfer, which took about two hours (100 minutes by road and 20 minutes by boat).||6. Enjoyable October Stay: Visiting in October was a fantastic choice, as the resort was at half capacity. This significantly reduced waiting times for food and activities, allowing me to enjoy everything without feeling rushed.||Individual Feedback on Activities:||- Tennis: The tennis GOs were nice guys, but I felt that the training sessions could be better adjusted according to the different skill levels of the players in the class. This would help everyone get the most out of their experience.||- Padel: The Padel GO is a great player but sometimes lacks sympathy and seems to prioritize himself over the guests. Improving his engagement with the GM’s (Gentils Membres) would enhance the overall experience.||- Yoga: The Yoga instructor was fantastic! She was very enthusiastic and had tons of experience. Her classes were a highlight of my stay.||- Waterskiing: I noticed that the enthusiasm for waterskiing could be improved. There were several mornings when I wanted to ski, but the GOs were sitting down and not actively getting the activity started. A little more initiative and a few smiles would go a long way in making the experience more enjoyable. ||- Bar: The bar staff were very nice and friendly. Their positive attitude added to the welcoming atmosphere of the resort.||Areas for Improvement:||1. GO Engagement: While the professionalism of the GOs was commendable, I noticed a lack of interaction between them and guests, especially solo travelers like myself. It seemed they primarily interacted with one another, which influenced their behavior during activities. Encouraging more engagement with guests could significantly enhance the overall experience.||2. Understanding the Role of a GO: It might be beneficial for the team to revisit the core meaning of being a GO (Gentil Organisateur). Emphasizing the importance of guest interaction and creating memorable experiences could enhance connections between staff and guests.||3. GO Attitude: Some GOs came across as a bit selfish and spoiled at times, which detracted from the overall guest experience. Fostering a more team-oriented mindset and a focus on guest satisfaction would be beneficial.||4. Wi-Fi Connectivity: The Wi-Fi service was somewhat inconsistent in certain areas of the resort. Ensuring reliable connectivity throughout the property would be helpful, especially for guests who need to stay connected during their stay.||Conclusion:||Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Club Med Grecolimano and appreciate the hard work of the entire team. By addressing these areas for improvement and fostering a more guest-centric approach among the GOs, the resort can create an even more memorable experience for solo travelers and all guests alike. I look forward to seeing how the resort...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to finally do a "bucket list" adventure and we recently spent a week at Club Med Gregolimano- Greece. This was our third different Club Med experience/location and it more than met our expectations. As always, the Club Med GM's and GO's were accommodating and helpful, the resort is beautifully located and the amenities were terrific. The food was by far the best of the three Club Meds we have visited. We learned to sail (which was so much fun), swam in the crystal clear waters, enjoyed the pools, archery, and so many of the other activities. The highlight of the week was the day long excursion we took with the GPVC guide, Dimitris Roussis. Prior to the trip, while reviewing potential excursions, I specifically told my wife, "I care nothing about going on a four wheel Jeep excursion while in Greece"...boy was I wrong! Dimitris sold me on the idea and then proceeded to exceed all expectations!! He crafted a personal adventure for the two of us and shared his passion and pride for the Greek Culture and Greek History. He took us through Olive Tree groves and off road and shared incredible vistas and views that we would never have seen, had we not lucked into this adventure. He took us to a small Greek village and introduced to authentic Greek coffee, took us to swim in the Aegean Sea, and explained varying aspects about the culture, economy and even delved into Greek Mythology and how it related to the wonderful landscape and breathtaking wonder all around us. Finally, he capped off the wonderful day of adventure by taking us to an authentic Greek cafe and having the most amazing lunch as we sat by the waterside overlooking the crystal clear waters. My wife and I both were so pleased with this excursion and impressed with Dimitris, so if you are going to Gregolimano...do not miss out!!!! The final thing I will say for Club Med Gregolimano is that despite the fact that we are Americans, and are not bi-lingual, I felt that the staff did an admirable job of trying to make sure we had what we needed. All the instructors, bartenders, wait staff, servers, etc. tried to be patient with us and we were appreciative of their helping us out and ensuring out stay was fantastic. The info I do want to make sure possible patrons know is that Gregolimano is about three hours north of Athens. Club Med does offer an excursion to go see Athens, but keep in mind the travel time to and from will take about 6 hours or so (three each way). Thus, if you plan on seeing many of the Athens based sights and relics, you will either need to dedicate an entire day, or possibly alter your stay to do Athens either at the beginning or end of your Club Med Experience. Personally, I wouldn't trade anything for the great experience and people at Club Med Gregolimano and I didn't feel we missed anything thanks to their effort and hospitality. Once again, we have now visited three different Club Med locations, and this was the best! If you are considering Club Med Gregolimano as your opportunity to check off a "bucket list" item, I assure you that you will be grateful...
