Guardiero — Hotel in Kythnos Municipality

August in Greece is high season for all native Greeks to go on holiday. At the same time Greece is a mekka for tourists from all parts of the world during the summer.months especially. Kithnos is the secret pearl of the cyclades and mostly frequented by Greeks. We spent 10 amazing nights at Guardiero and enjoyed every minute. The rooms are stylish in a moderate minimal fashion with traditional cycladic elements. Spacious, well lit, with a small kitchen to prepare a good breakfast or a light meal. The adjacent restaurant is cosy and non pretentious while it serves an array of delicious plates from the funky "Therapeia" salad to the undeniably best Pastitsio I have ever tried. Pantelis the chef is a true talent. At Guardiero you will be welcomed by the family that owns and runs the place, Mrs. Katerina and her children Flora, Maria and Giorgos are wonderful hosts that will become your friends. The natural surroundings include a very large open space between the houses and the crystal clear water of the Aegean, which is a lush green lawn perfect for children to run around on and play games. The beach is right at your doorstep and it's well protected by the prevailing Northern winds. A short 10 minute walk away is the gorgeous Naousa beach which has a footpath leading to Ai Giannis church situated on the top of a small hill sticking out of the water. Relax, swim, tan,eat, drink and relax some more. Let the kids run amok, it's safe here. I can only say good things about this place and can't...

We had a nice stay with my family recently at Guardiero. The owner and her family running the place are very friendly and ready to assist. The rooms are nice and spacious (we had the blue house, which is also the biggest...So have no picture of the rest of the accommodation). ||||The food offered is really good and tasty and with a big variety. The prices, however, are more expensive than expected...||||The biggest minus, to our opinion, is the road access... Very steep road, and most of it mud road...For us this was an issue, as we wanted to move around. For those who wish to stay there, then I suppose this would be less of a problem.||||We would surely consider staying...

This place is an oasis. If you are looking for calm, isolated vacations in the heart of nature with beautiful accommodation this is your place. The rooms are bungalows right on the beach (literally 20 steps away). The rooms are fully equiped and with the beautiful cycladic architecture. We stayed in the blue room. However the biggest asset of that place is Ms. Maria and her mum. The definition of professionalism and ideal hospitality. It also has a restaurant by the beach for drinks, snacks and food. At night you sleep with the sound of waves and the mesmerizing songs of the night insects....
