Our check-in was very easy and efficient. As we had cars we were initially able to park these at the front of the hotel. Night parking is available free of charge at the rear of the hotel under shade.||Rooms are extremely clean and serviced everyday. Every room has an air-conditioner and a clothes rack for wet swim suits or minor washing. The bathroom is fairly small with a tight walk in shower. It is a shame that it only has a shower phone that you have to hold as it doesn't provide a hook. The hotel provides basic amenities: soap, shampoo and conditioner.||My husband rang in the morning before we arrived to establish whether the hotel provided beach towels. He was told they did but when we arrived we were just given some old bathroom towels. We were initially told that the hotel would exchange them every second day for clean ones, but the next day was told we had to have the same towels for the duration of our stay. This was annoying because had I been told this on the phone then I would have brought my own ones which would have been double the size. The management sensed my annoyance and redeemed themselves by providing all 5 rooms with a fruit platter that we were very appreciative of.||The beach across the road from the hotel has a seabed of rocks and very little area to leave towels or clothes.||Breakfast is plentiful and there is a large variety of dishes to choose from. Boiled eggs, cereals, omelette, yoghart, croissants, honey, cakes, biscuits and lots more. Maria, one of the staff members would also make my elderly mother a Greek coffee every morning.||Paris at the front desk is extremely knowledgeable about the places to visit in Lefkada and where to eat. Every restaurant Paris suggested was a hit within our group of 10. He has exceptional knowledge of places of interest on the island of Lefkada but you will need a car.||We would definitely visit this hotel next time we...
Read moreThis is our 2nd time at The Florena we stayed here 2 years ago and we loved everything then about about this hotel, and I am pleased to say nothing has changed and we would definitely stay again. The owner, and all the staff are so professional and friendly but not over the top, perfect. |||| The rooms are so comfortable and the decor is very nice. Perfect working aircon, the room safe also included in room rate. A well stocked fridge, but plenty of room to add your own drinks and food. There is no kettle in the room so if you like a cuppa when you wake up, best to take your own. The beds are super comfy, So much so that we did not wake up until 9.45am one morning. ||||A car is really needed for The Florena Hotel as it is a little way from the nearest tavernas and shops. There is a covered car parking space for every room so no problems with parking. The hotel is on the Coastal Road but with the mosquito net, then the shutter then the patio door closed there is no problem with noise. ||||The best bit of this hotel is the amazing breakfast, traditional Greek breakfast with everything you could wish for. Cereals, peaches, croissants, fresh bread, honey, Greek yogurt, omelette, little sausages, cakes, biscuits, apple pie, cheese pie, tomatoes, cucumber and much more. As we are vegetarian and they put ham in the omelette they even made us our own vegetarian omelette every day. ||||Every 3 or 4 days a complimentary large fruit platter would be put into the fridge in the room with water melon, nectarines and cherries. Smashing for when you come back from a day out. |||| Thank you to all the amazing staff and owner of The Florena for...
Read moreThe positive: very clean and well located with really friendly staff, ready to accommodate our needs. They offered us coffee for free the first day to welcome us and they even upgraded us to the rooms of the second floor despite having booked for a room on the ground floor (the view is quite stunning from the balcony).
The negative: No wifi in the rooms and the one that was available on the shared spaces had a very poor connection (I had to go down to the lobby to get a connection as there was no signal on the upper floors). If you are like me and all of your content is stored in the cloud, that can be a serious deal breaker. Also, the breakfast could have more options (even...
