Sunbeds, Pool and Beach The first morning I took my family down to the beach after breakfast. It was impossible to find a sunbed with shade. However there was a full row with huge bean bags between the pool and the beach directly in the sun. I pointed out the opportunity to solve the problem by providing umbrellas to this section to two different parts of the staff but they were just telling me to talk to the other one.

To find a sunbed by the pool is even harder, just forget about it. So, the next day I was up early and reserved sunbeds at the beach just like everyone else. The video shows how it looked at 9.00 AM - almost all sunbeds were taken already. I never saw anyone from the staff doing anything about it but one morning there were to my surprise actually 2 different families trying to steal one of my sunbed sets despite all my stuff was there.

To summarize, there are obviously not enough sunbeds (specifically with shade) to cater to the number of guests of the hotel and local day pass visitors. The disappointment lies with the fact that they could fix this in 1 hour but choose not to do so.

In addition to above it is worth mentioning that the kids and adult pools will get crowded quickly (forget about swimming) so I choose to never use them therefore.

The beach is very close to the hotel which is of course nice. But it is 100% pebbles but on shore and in the water and it gets deep very fast. Also the external Waterpark, jet skis etc blocks the water in front of some of the sunbeds so you cannot swim there. Walking barefoot on the pebbles will hurt your feet.

Gym The views from the gym are amazing as it is located beachfront in the basement with huge windows. Expect up to 9 different cardio stations, the same number of technogym weight machines, 2 pilates balls, some kettlebells and heavy dumbbells. It is nowhere near a regular gym but for a hotel it is good.

Kids Beyond the gym, which allows kids when accompanied by an adult, the hotel offers limited activities for kids but the pool and beach. No pool table but eventually we found a table tennis spot a bit hidden away. A beach volley court and micro football pitch but the sand is too hot to use it in August. The Waterpark is external.

Staff All of the staff are friendly but it is apparent that most of the disappointments of this hotel is due to a lack of resources. Most waiters are working hard to clear tables but they are simply too few to keep it up. When ordering a drink in the bar you can be passed up upon and sit there for a while as those bartenders also provide all of the drinks to the waiters. During multiple dinners the waiters missed us so I ended up going to the bar myself and ordered for all of us. Not a great experience.

Having only two chefs in the kitchen is obviously not enough to serve warm food at peak hours.

Value for money All in all, despite some good parts such as the views, gym, pizza and canned sodas I would not recommend this hotel for a week long family vacation from elsewhere in Europe. But if you live in Athens and want to take a few days off without driving more than an hour it is one of the better options I would expect. This is reflected by a majority of the guests (at out stay) being Greek with French and Dutch guests being most common thereafter. They do claim to be 5 star and charge you as such. I have stayed at 5 star (even 4 star) hotels in Chalkidiki before which are all far better. So if you don't have to fly to Athens specifically I would recommend other options on mainland Greece where prices still have not inflated as much as out on the islands. I will not return to this hotel nor any other...

My husband and I stayed at this resort for 3 nights before flying home through Athens. For the price paid, we were left very underwhelmed with our experience at this hotel.

First of all, the room was extremely crammed and had absolutely zero storage space for your belongings (we had a deluxe ocean view room). Absolutely nowhere to put your suitcases... not even a luggage stand. Had to somehow cram them on the little side sofa but they both could not fit at once and it was very annoying. There is also no closet in the room (just 1 open rack). The bathroom also had absolutely nowhere to store your toiletry bags and everything had to go on the floor or windowsill. For a 5-star resort, you'd think they'd factor in where people can store their belongings.

Yes the room itself it gorgeous and the bathroom was also stunning - but they definitely chose fashion over function when designing this hotel. The balcony door is also very cheap and doesn't block out any sound when you lock it.

One of the biggest problems we encountered was the very LOUD club music playing during 2 of our 3 nights at the hotel. We aren't sure if it was coming from the rooftop bar of the hotel, or the neighbouring beach club - but on Saturday night the music was BLASTING until 5am! Due to the cheap balcony doors we heard all of it and didn't sleep a wink. Just terrible.

The pool area is quite small compared to the size of the hotel. Lounge chairs crammed in so you are 6 inches away from everyone around you. Had to get up early morning if you wanted a chair. Thankfully there were always a few beach loungers available by about 10-11am. The beach loungers were in very rough shape and had stains and rips and some were very flat. Again not something you expect for a 5-star resort. There was also no drink service at the beach (we think maybe they had a server 1 day, but she only approached 3 guests and nobody else).

One thing we found very odd was that there was no outdoor towel station for guests to retrieve/exchange pool/beach towels. You had to go inside the building either to the lobby, or to the spa in the basement in order to get pool towels (??). Very odd. So if you wanted to exchange a soaking wet towel at 1pm to get a dry one... nobody could help you outside and you had to make your way back into the building. Literally any beach resort we've ever been to in 25 years has had an outdoor towel station.

Bar service was very slow as well, we believe they are very understaffed. One afternoon they only had 1 bartender on the beach and there was a huge lineup to get a beverage. The cocktails at the resort were also extremely overpriced, and we didn't even bother having dinner here - there is a large selection of restaurants if you walk down the boardwalk to the right of the building at night - loads of local restaurants with patios to choose from.

We will also add that the hotel is in a really odd location - in a small basically suburban town with a few beach clubs next door but it's definitely not a "touristy" town (there are no other hotels). This didn't bother us at all, my husband is Greek and was happy with the small town vibes... but it's quite interesting why they built this hotel in such a town with nothing really around other than local homes and restaurants.

Overall we found for the price paid, this hotel did not provide the "5-star" experience and we would not stay here again. Especially if you want to be able to sleep at night and not listen to club music until dawn.

Pros: the beach itself is quite lovely with clear, warm water. Just bring water shoes...

This hotel has great lightning, room view and a super wow breakfast. The only positive was the birthday cake and the champagne served in our room some hours after our check in for my birthday. Other than the above, please avoid - there are many true five stars experiences around Greece, with pretty much the same cost. The pain points we encounter during our stay there:

Parking: it is unacceptable for a 5* hotel to force guests to drive to the parking and then walk. In our case, I had to wait for my bf carrying our luggage, while the security “excused” himself by mentioning that there are some VIPs here and it’s a bit hectic. How can he know that we are not a VIP? But most importantly, why my arrival should be rushed because you have VIP guests?

checkin: in our communication with the manager, it was mentioned that we plan to arrive around 1pm, as we did. The room was not ready, though. Shouldn’t we be informed beforehand?

sunbeds: supposed to be free for hotel guests, but it was only when we arrived that we found out they are on a first come, first served basis. As a result, at 10am, all the sunbeds were “reserved” by putting a towel on them… By the way, we didn’t receive any towels, although most of guests seem to have the same brown ones. We eventually asked where we can get them and we went over. Also, the quality of the sunbeds’ pillow is below average, and even lower for this hotel. Photos attached

Staff: The main issue is with the staff. We totally understand peak season difficulties, but we are huge fans of professionalism and courtesy. Most of the people here are very inexperienced except for the reception ladies and the room service: I have already mentioned security’s behavior, but there are many many issues: cleaning ladies walking loudly and the rooms are not as clean perfect as they should be, with bird dropping in the balcony, cups on the sand on the beach, etc., beach bar service has no clue about sunbeds and they are talking to each other like there are no people there. Some more examples: we are asked more than 10 times if we are hotel guests which makes us feel stressed and somehow unwanted. In the parking, we wanted to take a bag from our car and the security opened a flashlight to check on us. We asked for coffee caps and the comment was that the hotel has run out of them (photo also attached). They seem to have an impolite, amateur behavior, totally inappropriate for a five star hotel. Finally, when we highlighted at the reception that we have to walk from the parking to the hotel, we were informed that this is a soft opening, but shouldn’t we be informed about that? Allow me to say that we didn’t pay for a soft opening and the staff should be there to accommodate guests and not the other way around. Moreover, when we sent the above message to the guest manager we received a super vague reply that didn’t make us feel more comfortable. On the contrary, we returned to our room at 3:45pm only to find out that it was I cleaned. We had to ask twice for housekeeping…

Overall, our expectations did not meet at all and we left feeling...

I'll start by saying that our overall experience was good but unfortunately it wasn't because of the hotel, it's because we are positive people who enjoy life. And know how to make lemonade. We booked two executive suites with sea view for 2 families. I made one reservation for both rooms but they gave us rooms in two different floors, they refused to accommodate the request to be together as the hotel was fully booked. One room was ready at 3 and we had to wait an extra 20 minutes for the second room even though it was past check in time. We finally received our room and I decided to enjoy a bath, a few minutes later the water stopped!! There was a 30 MINUTES WATER BREAKE !when im wet in a towl waiting for the water to return , no apology from the hotel or anything. I called to ask for a bathrobe that is supposed to be in the room, it took them 3 calls and 6 hours to get it. The next morning we all jumped out of bed at 9:00 am to the sound of a FIRE ALARM!! We rushed downstairs with the entire hotel to realize minutes later that thank G-d it was a false alarm.Again no apology or anything from the hotel... We waited in line for breakfast for 20-30 minutes every morning! !! And to top everything, the room amenities is detailing there is an espresso machine in the room, there was indeed a machine and 4 capsules. Once we used the coffee there was NO refill!! So no more coffee in the room , of any kind... when we asked for a refill we were told we would have to pay 2 euro per capsule plus a 5 Euro fee for the delivery! !! This is certainly not the standard for a five star hotel. I have to say that even though the staff was smiling it felt like we are not welcomed. This was supposed to be a luxury vacation and it sure didn't feel like it. I will add that the hotel is beautiful! The suite is not suitable for 2+3 as the kids bed is a sofa bed and is very uncomfortable. There is only one bathroom in the suite. This is also something to consider. Regarding the sea view , it is partly sea view and partly street... Also, I mostly took the stairs to the 4th floor as the elevators took forever... The rooms have a speaker which is cool but there is also a scale in the bathroom, who wants to weight themselves on a vacation??? I would loose that if I was the hotel management... Oh there was a party on the roof one night, that was really nice. On the morning of check out we asked for the breakfast packed as we left at 6am, the packed food was embarrassing.. An Apple , two pieces of bread with a piece of yellow cheese , one mini muffin and one doughnut hole. Embarrassing By the way, I emailed the chain's customer service and never heard back...
