The whole family enjoyed staying in this hotel, it was the perfect place for relaxing after visiting the monasteries of Meteora. We stayed here for 4 nights.||||The owners were very welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. ||||The rooms were large, clean, had comfortable beds, air conditioning, large bathroom and large shower, a fridge and a large patio area with tables and chairs and a clothes airer. ||||The pool area was the best bit about the hotel. The main pool was large with a very high slide. There were plenty of sun beds and umbrellas which is unusual as a lot of hotels don’t seem to have enough. There was also a smaller pool for younger children and a small garden play area with play houses for younger children and a giant connect 4 game for older children. There was also a bar area which served ice cream, drinks and smoothies. They also served toasties and snacks but we didn’t try these so can’t comment on what the food was like. The ice cream and smoothies were lovely! You need to bring you own towels for the pool which we didn’t realise. The owner kindly let us borrow two of her towels which we appreciated. The slide caused a few bruises so may be worth wearing a pair of shorts on the slide. Our children did go on the slide about 100 times each day though! ||||Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and good quality food. ||||I noticed there was a poor review re bathrooms, housekeeping and the play area. The bathroom looked new, was large and had a good quality shower. There was a play area for young children and the housekeeping cleaned and changed our sheets and towels every day.||||Would recommend having a car if staying here as it’s a 2 mile walk to the nearest town and about a 10 min drive to the...
Read moreMeteora is one of the most special and spectacular places to visit in Greece! Philoxenia camp and bungalows are only 3 km outside Kalambaka.|The rooms are nicely decorated, the place is very clean and the owners very friendly- they gave us lots of information about the area. |It was wonderful to have a swim after visiting all the sites and our kids also loved the pool area, especially the water slide.|On the other hand keep in mind that the bathrooms aren't renovated, although in fairly good condition (that's why there aren't any bathroom photos in the net), the free Wi-Fi is very weak, the water in the pool is just chlorinated tap water and not sea water as advertised and room prices are high compared to other similar accommodations in the area. Furthermore there is no playground or other facilities for kids as also advertised.|Don't forget to ask every day for the complimentary daily housekeeping which is advertised in booking sites but provided only upon guest's request.|My advice: A very good place to stay if you don't mind feeling cheated by the promised but not offered accommodation...
Read moreMy 6 year old had the best time ever with the pools and the water slides, she couldn't get enough of it. The location is close to Kalambaka and Meteora so we could combine site seeing in the mornings + kid's pool fun afternoon. The good points: The place itself is very nice. Clean, green, spacious. The owner and staff were kind and friendly. The pools were great. one for very young kids, one for kids and adults and one for the slides. It has also a playground next to the pools. The room's window has a mosquito net! The bar's pizza was good. Reasonable price. The lesser points: No view of the mountains, it is all ground floor surrounded with trees. lovely, but no view. No life guard at the pools or the slides. The shower is a bit dated. All in all, if you travel with kids, it's a fantastic place to stay in. Kids are free there to enjoy the grounds, the pools, the cats around.. We were there when it was almost empty so that...
