Preveli Rooms — Hotel in Municipality of Agios Vasileios

We booked the room in mid-May for a late August stay after reading reviews. At arrival we got a tiny room without balcony and with a Windows towards the back side. The room and all the hallway smelled like an outdoors toilet, so the window hade to be closed. Due to heavy winds the door to the room was slamming non-stop even though I put a towel inbetween the door and frame to soothen the noice. When we went to the tavern for a late night drink the owners family occupied the "bar area" playing online games and watching TV. As the room didn't have WiFi and my phone no signal I asked for the Wifi code and got frowned at. I got the code eventuellt, we had our drinks and left for the next doors tavern where we were warmly welcomed and well looked after. The location is one of our favorites in Crete. ||||I can see myself sitting there for 2-3 days.|| ||I even liked the dirt road leading to the place because if you do it in the day it is beautiful. ||||Not having WiFi is OK by us.||||our son had a room without a toilet and the toilet in the corridor had a bad smell. ||||The shower head is joined to the wall next to the toilet. Wonderful location next to a beautiful beach, sea view from our balcony. They made up our rooms during the day and gave us fresh towels. No A/C and fairly basic rooms (fan unfortunately wasn't very effective). Very good price, good for those who prioritise value over comfort. The minimart was really well stocked. It's near some great walking trails and beaches. A bit loud at night as noise carries in the building despite the isolated location. Would benefit very much from a sunshade as it receives a lot of afternoon sun, currently quite exposed so gets warm. The gravel road for access was ok in our small hire car.
