Villa Kliton — Hotel in Municipality of Agios Vasileios

My husband and I have been to Crete three times and there may be no more authentic experience than spending your vacation in Drimiskos. And having been here twice, We were absolutely delighted to stay in this authentic Stone Greek villa in which Kliton and Maria and their family made their home. The layout was spectacular a perfect spot to sit on daybeds under a lemon tree in the shade during the heat of the day just a stones throw from the swimming pool for those quick dips to cool you down. And a gorgeous covered dining table comfortable for four but big enough to fit 8 or 10 comfortably. There’s a second dining area up on a high terrace that supports you a beautiful view of the sea while having your breakfast of local yogurt and honey. The kitchen was fully kitted out with everything we could want. And the privacy of the bedrooms meant that we could have Quiet evenings well our children enjoyed their own bedrooms and bathroom. Karames A neighboring villagewas a lovely morning’s walk to have an Ice cold frappe an pop to the grocery store. There were so many restaurants just about 20 minutes drive from the front door Agio Flotia and our absolute favorite Ligres beach taverna. Don’t miss the belly pork or the sunset. We stayed for two weeks and didn’t run out of things to do and the fresh bed, linens and towels halfway through were delightful. Maria even brought her unbeatable cheese pies down and a gorgeous trifle dessert for the kids to enjoy. Spili was only a 20 minute drive away and had about a half dozen restaurants but if we ever didn’t want to drive, there is a delicious Taverna about a two minute walk from the front door of he villa! We had gorgeous days out visiting Minoan ruins, and Roman ruins as well as beautiful beaches and Taverna. My husband says this is the best Villa we’ve ever rented. Not even just in Crete! If you’re looking for a spot overrun by tourists, this is not for you. But the views in the sunsets and the relaxation...

You couldn’t ask for a better place, or hosts! Highly recommended. Gorgeous old courtyard house in the unspoilt village of Drymiskos, on the stunning south side of Crete. Beautiful, laid back surroundings with a host of local villages, beaches and tavernas to explore. Maria and Kliton used to run the village taverna - to much acclaim from visitors and tourists alike - and bring that same care and genuine warmth to their villa.
