Unacceptable and Inhumane Behavior at Isidora Hotel, Traianoupolis We made a phone reservation and were clearly told we had a 2-hour window to arrive for check-in. We actually arrived earlier than agreed, at 10:40 pm, yet they stopped answering the phone entirely. After numerous missed calls, we finally received a blunt message informing us that the reception was closed. No warning, no explanation—just a message. Despite explaining that we had driven 1,000 kilometers from Athens over 8 exhausting hours, and only made a brief stop for food, they showed zero empathy or care. This is not just unprofessional—it's downright inhumane. We were left with no option but to sleep in our car in 4-degree weather, as there were no available accommodations within an 100 km radius. Locals in Tycheró and Provatónas can confirm this nightmare. Leaving guests stranded like this, after a confirmed booking and communication, is unforgivable. You have to be a truly heartless person to treat people this way. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid it at all costs.
......Reply to your response: Thank you for your reply, which, rather than clarifying, only confirms the level of unprofessionalism we experienced.
We had a direct phone conversation and were explicitly told we could arrive within a 2-hour window, meaning check-in was possible until 11:00 pm. We actually arrived earlier than that, at 10:40 pm, after a long 8-hour journey. If you were too tired or simply unwilling to honor the confirmed arrangement, that’s on you—don’t shift the blame onto us. Your lack of communication—ignoring our calls and abruptly informing us the reception was closed without prior warning—was simply unacceptable. This irresponsible behavior forced us into a very difficult situation, ultimately having to sleep in our car in freezing temperatures due to your refusal to honor the agreement.
And to be clear, I don’t need to know you personally to judge the unprofessional way you handled this situation. I am sharing my experience of your business based on our direct interactions, and your defensive response only serves to reinforce our...
Read moreWe chose this hotel for one night before taking the boat to Samothraki. It turned out to be a great alternative to staying in Alexandroupolis. We were a three minute walk from the information center of the Delta Evros, where we booked a boat trip around the Delta for the next day, as the boat to Samathraki left in the afternoon. The Delta is a magical area to walk in and it's as close as can be to the hotel. We would have considered exploring it longer, but a permit is needed in advance (we didn't do our homework) to see the more eastern area. ||The hotel was clean, good shower, good food in the taverna next door (it's the same family), very friendly, easy parking, great value for the money --- and the birds... ! We were so fascinated by the Delta Evros, and we liked the hotel so much that we stayed again for one night on our way back from Samothraki before returning to Thessaloniki. ||It might look a bit run down from the main road, but the interior...
Read moreThe Isadora is located in a very quiet area not far from Loutros and next door to the river and Roman Baths. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and ideal for nature lovers. The room was spacious and on the ground floor which was ideal especially when travelling with a dog. Above all the staff were excellent led by the ever cheerful and helpful Maria. The cleaner, when she saw the need, gave us extra pillows and an extension lead without being asked - that's what I call service! The hotel has the bonus of a taverna next door which is ideal as there are few close eating options. We ate there a couple of times and the food and service were excellent. The place had a very homely feel and we have no hesitation in recommending it and would be very happy to stay...
