The luxury traditional small bookstore is one of a few stand-alone rooms within a plot on a quiet street set back from the sea in Kyllini. Nikos, the owner, is always around to greet guests and he was an utterly charming, wonderful man. Each self-contained room had a different theme and ours, the bookstore, was full of old books. But please, look at the photos. The detail around the room and outside was constructed from love and attention to detail. Piped music, from the 80s and 90s, of course, was very quietly played from hidden speakers and this, rather than being annoying, was unobtrusive. Little t lights were lighten around the room when we returned from a dinner at the port. And yes, you need your anti mosquito spray to sit out but the monsters were not too bad. When showing us the room, Nikos showed us around and gave us a bootle of wine and some gifts. There was even a visitors book. The AC was brand new and excellent as was a coffee maker and lots of free coffee and water and beer in the fridge. This was an experience and something very personal. We stayed for a night only but were really comfortable and there are some amazing restaurants within a 15 minute walk. Thank you Nikos for sharing your wonderful...
Read moreWe arrived with 6 months old baby and golden retriever (who is trained for canistherapy, thus obedient). We asked ig they allow dogs in (as is stated in booking), while our dog waited with our luggage in previous acomodation with AC - owner said that he was more than happy to acommodate us all. Hovewwr when I put baby to sleep in the room and my husband brought our dog and luggage the owner kicked us away, because the dog is large breed (he never mentioned that size is an issue before) and that is ‘not a dog”. He asked for extra 20€ to put us in large apartment or dog stay outside. when we refused and wanted to leave at first he did not want to give us money back and claimed 10€ for baby sleeping in the room for last 15 minutes. After some quarrel when we reaĺly just wanted to leave he gave us money back and we left with sleeping infant in carseat and just took evening ferry to Zakynthos instead. stay away from this...
Read moreDuring our stay on Zakynthos, we decided to go to Kyllini. Took the ferry and in the port we looked on the internet for rooms and found this hidden gem, just 1 km from the port. We were welcomed by Nikos the owner, such a nice guy and he showed us the room. Just stunning! Carefully equiped and decorated. It has a mini bar and a very nice terrace. And there is a roof top terrace too which overviews the olive tree garden. There are other hotels and rooms in Kyllini, but don't go there. If you are looking for Greek hospitality and a Greek experience, come to Nikos and you won't regret...
