Orientem Villa Heated Pool — Hotel in Municipality of Apokoronas

We've just returned from a weeks vacation at Orientem Heated Pool in Crete, travelling as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children aged 6 & 2).

I don't think I have the vocabulary to adequately describe just how amazing our holiday has been. The villa was absolutely immaculate with everything we could ever require as a young family being catered for - and even if it wasn't, we had the wonderful host Maria offering to assist us in anyway possible should we need it.

We've stayed in many villas over the years but have never come across a host as engaging and as helpful as Maria. She regularly surprised us with local treats such as Olive Oil, Raki, Wine, Sweets and Home Baked Cakes!

She welcomed us on the 1st day with a platter of Greek specialities and then on the final night she gifted us her personally harvested Olive Oil and a freshly baked cake. We truly did not want to go home and we are already looking if we can go back to Crete, and the Orientem Villa at some point next year.

The sunrise over the bay was one of the most incredible I have ever seen. The whole family awoke early to view this and we were emotionally blown away by it.

The pool, while a little cooler than some villas we have visited, had a really useful 'kids' area where they could play in relative safety without having to have an Adult in the pool at the same time.

The only 'slight' negative I could think of was the lack of wardrobe space. If you were staying for longer than a week, then this may...

Absolutely amazing place - it was the best vacation villa we’ve stayed so far as a family. Everything looked exactly like in the photos. The house is absolutely beautiful and well equipped. There is quiet and efficient air conditioning in each room. The pool was very clean and large enough for a couple of people with comfortable stairs and shallower area for smaller children.

The view on the mountains is great. House is situated wisely - it is possible to enjoy the sun from early morning up to the evening, but there are also umbrellas and areas where you can stay away from the sun if you prefer.

So the house is great, but the owners are exceptional. Amazingly nice and extremely hospitable people who really cared to make our stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. We’ve really never experienced before being treated and taken care of so well during our vacations.

Questo è uno dei posti più belli che abbia mai visto in tutta la mia vita, è stato un posto meraviglioso la piscina era fantastica e tutto ciò che era in quella casa era bellissimo e meraviglioso io non ho potuto mai vedere una cosa così bella in tutta la mia vita. Il paese era fantastico era pieno di attività con il parco giochi più grande del mondo, i ristoranti erano eccezionali ci stavano Cracco e Cannavacciuolo che mi aspettavano ogni giorno davanti alle TABEPNE! Vi posso assicurare che non ho mai visto una cosa così bella, ci sono le mantidi religiose ovunque che sono molto simpatiche e benevolente, stanno sugli alberi e sul tavolo e a volte provano entrare in casa ma senza successo perché ci sono le zanzariere, ma sono così carine che vorresti coccolarli e portartele in Italia. Magari avessimo anche noi le mantidi. Vi assicuro che è stato un incanto, la proprietà è così gentile che ti porta sempre tante leccornie da mangiare, tutte greche e tutte squisite. La piscina è un incanto, e così bella che pensi che il mare non esiste. I letti sono così comodi che poi dormire anche 70/80 ore senza morire. La cucina è super accessoriata ci sono tutti i forni e elettrodomestici necessari, puoi anche farti le spremute e i caffè. Il frigorifero è super efficiente e la camera al piano superiore è bellissimo. Non vi preoccupate se non è molto vicino alle zone centrali, perché CRETA è gigantesca Quindi comunque dovreste fare tanti chilometri. Quindi fidatevi di me se prendete un viaggio per venire a Creta dovete affittare la casa qui, perché è un’esperienza più unica che rara sarà così bello che piangerete quando andrete via. E mi raccomando mangiatevi i fichi dagli alberi e ascoltate le pecore là vicino che cantano con le campanelle. Fate attenzione a Gigi che dalle 11 alle due di notte gira con una bastone tra gli alberi, e il fatto che è cieco potrebbe colpirvi ma se lo fa non lo fa apposta. E comunque non colpisce con violenza, perché cammina per evitare di sbattere negli alberi.a volte si appollaia sulle cime dei cipressi ed urla perché ha paura di cadere.
