O Xenonas Ton Mylon — Hotel in Municipality of Argos and Mykines

Extremely pleasant stay. I stayed there with two friends. The rooms are spacious, air conditioned (crucial!), equipped with a fridge and a small cooker, as well as a TV set, a small desk and a wardrobe. Some people dislike having a bathroom/shower, with no curtains in it, but I actually prefer it this way. There is also a terrace/balcony with chairs and a table. The views are not particularly inspiring, but in exchange you get a very quiet environment, and close to the sea to boot. The hostel itself is small and very cosy. Doretta, who speaks several languages and presented us with a dish of delicious tiganopites for breakfast the first morning, and her husband were very personable and as helpful as can be. Even when our rental car broke down, they were there for us all the time to offer solutions and give directions to the company drivers who came with another car. Zykos the dog was also a very kind host!||||In short, if you are going to the Argolis region, I very much doubt you're going to get anything better than this when it comes to accomodation. O Xenonas was exactly as pictured. As a family of five, we stayed in a large apartment on the ground floor. Our children loved playing on the swing set and Doretta demonstrated the Greek hospitality that makes us want to return. She brought us Greek pancakes and a flower shaped waffle the first morning. The second morning - because she and her husband chaperoned a school trip to the Athens zoo - she left us a yummy cake. The apartment was cleaned while we were there. There are a few things that could be improved, which is why I have given four stars. The bunk bed was very creaky (we put a pillow between the top bunk and the wall and it helped a lot), the drain in the shower could be made bigger for it almost overflowed, and there was a strange chemical smell under the sink, where the dishes were kept. O Xenonas is in close proximity to the beach and it is a beautiful part of the Peloponnesos. Thank you so much Doretta!!! You are a wonderful hostess who takes pride in her hotel. Per il nostro tour nell'Argolide ci occorreva una sistemazione per un paio di notti vicino al mare e non lontano da luoghi interessanti da visitare. Abbiamo selezionato questa struttura soprattutto per le numerose recensioni positive e vista la posizione e le foto sembrava un'ottima scelta.||Purtroppo ci siamo ricreduti e la nostra valutazione complessiva è scarsa.||||Gli appartamenti sono situati in un edificio in aperta campagna difficile da trovare viste le scarse indicazioni. La struttura esterna è ben realizzata a discapito del resto degli edifici circostanti ancora in fase costruttiva. Appena arrivati non c'era nessuno e non si capiva dove andare un cancello chiuso con lucchetto senza alcuni campanello ed un cane che ci scrutava. Fortunatamente una bimba che si era affacciata chiamava sua madre la proprietaria.||||La signora ci accoglie molto bene simpatica, gentile e parlando molto bene in italiano ci mostra la nostra stanza illustrandoci informazioni sul posto.||La camera era molto spaziosa, un monolocale con piccolo angolo cottura con il necessario per cucinare ed un piccolo frigo bar, tavolino, aria condizionata e piccolo bagno. Dotata di serrande elettriche e camino, buona la pulizia, letti di comodità media.||Rifiniture semplici con alcune mancanze come soffitto grezzo, fili a penzoloni, doccia senza tenda, piccolo balconcino con tavolino e sedie con vista sui campi circostanti non molto curati.||Wi-Fi disponibile ma con scarso segnale e velocità.||||Intorno campi con erba alta così come il piccolo angolo con giochi per bambini un po' vecchiotti, parcheggio a disposizione fronte l'edificio.||La struttura è piuttosto isolata nei dintorni non c'è nulla solo un piccolo market ed un benzinaio fronte la strada principale. Il paesino non è distante con qualche taverna e spiaggia attrezzata in ciottoli non molto ampia e di livello inferiore a quelle che si possono incontrate a pochi km di distanza.||||Nei giorni del nostro soggiorno non abbiamo visto mai nessuno, solo il cane Zicos faceva da guardia e bisognava preoccuparsi di richiudere il cancello con il lucchetto altrimenti poteva uscire. Inoltre era sempre libero e risiedeva nel pianerottolo antistante gli appartamenti.||||Certamente è una sistemazione economica non si trovano molte alternative nei dintorni, ma sinceramente non è la soluzione che fa per noi e a cui siamo abituati girovagando per il paese, dove si possono incontrare realtà molto meno turistiche dell'Argolide e ben più blasonate.||||In definitiva ringraziamo la sig.ra Doretta per la sua accoglienza e disponibilità, è una soluzione semplice ma piuttosto isolata adatta per coppie senza troppe pretese, ma per famiglie con bambini non è l'ideale.||||PRO : soluzione economica, camere ampie, buona dotazione||CONTRO : isolato, nessuna sorveglianza, mare...
