We're just back home from a wonderful week at the Hotel Paradisio with our four year old twins. It's hard to know where to start. From out initial email inquiries and throughout our entire stay Soula, her family and the staff gave us the most incredible warm welcome and did everything to make us feel at home and make our stay as easy, comfortable, fun and enjoyable as possible.||||On our second night we met many of the other guests treading grapes to make wine. As soon as that was finished, we sat down together to enjoy a huge communal meal and were able to confirm that the local wine (and food) was very tasty indeed!||||The pool is lovely and safe for kids and has enough room to have a swim if you're a grown up. There's more than enough sun loungers etc.. to relax when you're not swimming and a ton of toys too. The play area, tree house, ride on bikes (and cars and scooters and trikes), dressing up box etc... provided endless hours of fun for the kids and the sunshade over the whole thing was great in the heat of the day.||||Soula was really kind to our kids who were thrilled to be able to help out with the pony, hens and other animals. Our apartment was cleaned every day and the fridge stocked with lovely food and drinks. The apartment we stayed in was well thought out and there were tons of child friendly touches (like decent black out curtains) and toys too play with too.||||We enjoyed spending time on the beach just down the road at Stavros, which was secluded enough for the kids to swim in the water. We also went on a walk into the hills behind the hotel and got to enjoy the wonderful scenery from a path along a dried up stream bed.||||If you have kids, I can't recommend this place enough. The facilities are amazing and Soula goes above and beyond to make it a really...
Read moreI had an absolutely incredible experience at Paradisio Hotel in Stravos, Crete. This hidden gem deserves nothing less than a 5-star exceptional review. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the perfect setup for kids - a haven of relaxation and safety.
The swimming pool, complete with an array of toys, was a paradise for the little ones. The playground provided endless entertainment, and the availability of free bicycles added a delightful touch to our stay. What truly amazed me was the daily treat of locally sourced products from the owners' garden and their animals, like fresh eggs. It was a farm-to-table delight that added an authentic touch to breakfast and snacks!
The heart and soul of this place is undeniably Soula, the owner. Her warmth and genuine friendliness made me feel like I was visiting family. She had a perpetual smile and was always eager to assist, not only within the property but also with suggestions for an amazing vacation outside its boundaries.
Safety was a paramount concern, and I was impressed by the meticulous attention paid to it. The cleanliness was impeccable, making me feel completely at ease. The overall atmosphere exuded a true sense of family and authentic Crete charm, creating an environment that was both comforting and invigorating.
In a nutshell, Paradisio Hotel surpassed all expectations. It's a haven for families, a retreat for relaxation, and a gateway to an authentic Cretan experience. My time here was nothing short of magical, thanks to the wonderful blend of hospitality, safety, and the vibrant local essence. I can't wait to return to this...
Read moreABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! We've never been anywhere like this before! It's perfect for families with small kids (under 8 I would think). We went with a baby and a 3 year old and had the best time. It's a small, independent family run place with 7 apartments set around a play area, pool (with every toy you could ever need) and bikes and scooters for the whole family. The host, Soula, is so warm and accommodating - nothing is too much trouble. Each apartment is perfectly furnished for a family and even has some toys for the kids and a huge breakfast which you can prepare in the kitchen at your leisure (bread, eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, feta, olives, juice, cerial, yoghurt etc!). There was also a weekly BBQ where we had the best food we'd had all holiday and got to chat with other parents as the kids played.
It's hard to describe how perfect this is for parents, as it's such a small place, the kids all make friends quickly and play together allowing you to relax, maybe even read a book!!! The pool also has a really good 50cm deep section for toddlers to play in. The beach is close (Stavros) and is a really nice sheltered beach with calm water for the kids to swim in. It's relatively close to the airport (which is a bonus) but there isn't much airplane noise and you can't hear any from inside the apartments. There's also mini horses to stroke and chickens which the kids can collect fresh eggs from.
We will definitely...
