Elia Woodstone Houses — Hotel in Municipality of Chersonissos

We had a really lovely holiday here. Highly recommended. The owner met us in the square and walked us here. If you are driving I recommend coming straight here as going to the square is quite the driving challenge and if you are in a rental and driving on the wrong side of the road it could prove costly.

The local restaurants are awesome, very cheap (3 courses with wine and beer for two for less than €30). You will need a car as it’s quite remote, but that is actually what you are paying for - so for us perfect. With the most incredible Views and locals are friendly.

If you are also wondering what to do with the rather inquisitive neighbour (when you know you know), I dealt with the situation by ignoring her for half a day, then speaking to her in English, admittedly with an irritating tone, until she left us alone. I think she is after free stuff, so paying tribute may also render the same results. However I suspect you will be paying homage until you leave. To those willing to take my route I have not received any noticeable...

Located in the unique village of Elia, just a 15-minute drive from the buzzing town of Herakleion, it truly is heaven on earth. Elia Woolstone houses is Cretan hospitality at its best. They have various properties ranging in different sizes and with different facilities according to the guests' needs.

Firstly and most importantly, in my eyes, every time I have visited, it has always been spotless. My favourite apartment has use of the swimming pool and a breathtaking view of the village. The apartments have a traditional character to them, which adds to the experience of traditional village life but at the same time have a modern and fresh look.

The hosts are exceptionally welcoming and can not do enough for you to make your stay perfect.
